A Porsche RS that can be used on the road? A tempting prospect, and one offered by the first 997 RS. It combined the track ability of the earlier 996 with the newfound compliance of the 997 to create a stunning 911.
Perfect blend of hooligan and road car?
The fact that just a single first-gen 997 RS is for sale on PH is testament to how covetable these cars remain. Moreover, with June now being the middle of the track day season, it seems unlikely that many additional cars will come up for sale during the summer.
For those wanting to hold out, the current entry point is around £65,000. Many that come up for sale will have the PCCB option as it had proved its worth on track by 2007. It's hard to see them going much below £60,000 given the values of the 996 RS.
Buy if: You want a track-honed GT3 that is suitable for the road too.
Don't buy if: You're looking for a GT3 for the same price as a new Boxster.
