Introduced towards the end of Mk1 GTi production and only available with three-door 'hatch' bodywork, around 1,000 Campaign Edition models were produced for the UK

Powered by a naturally aspirated, 112bhp, 1.8-litre inline-four with a 5-speed manual transmission. Low ride height combined with 14" Pirelli alloys, sport suspension and Recaro-style seats make these a real 'fun' classic

They featured a factory-installed sliding sunroof, green-tinted glass all round, matt black A-pillars and a four-light front grille with inner fog lights

Fitted with the exclusive 'Campaign' cloth upholstery, complemented by a leather-wrapped steering wheel, wood veneer dashboard and special edition gear knob - features that elevate this model above standard GTi variants
