AUSTIN-HEALEY 3000
This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, The Classic Sale at Silverstone Festival 2025 on Sunday the 24th of August, The Wing, Silverstone Circuit, NN12 8TN.
The first-generation AH 3000 was introduced in July 1959 replacing the 2.6-litre 100/6 and was offered with a choice of two-seater (BN7) or 2+2 (BT7) body styles
It now featured front disc brakes and was powered by a 124bhp, 2,912cc BMC C-Series and a 4-speed box with overdrive as an option
This fabulous 1960 example has been the subject of a ground-up restoration over many years by Orchard Restorations including a new chassis, reconditioned steel monocoque and lightweight aluminium wings and aprons
The engine has been rebuilt with lead-free valve seats and rebuilt SU carbs and the differential and overdrive gearbox have been rebuilt with new bearings
Completely rewired with a new loom and fitted with a new distributor, new brakes, clutch and a recon starter motor and dynamo
Beautifully presented in Aston Martin Racing Green over a black leather interior, new trim and carpets and a full double tonneau, hood and sidescreens
Supplied with a good history file with many photographs and invoices relating to the restoration
An attractive 'Big Healey' with many lightweight panels as an homage to the lightweight Healeys of the period and with its side-exit exhaust, it sounds as good as it looks
