Motodrome are pleased to offer this 1983 Land Rover Series 3 88in 2.25 petrol County Station Wagon 6 seater, finished in Russet Brown with Limestone tropical roof.

‘Luxury’ and ‘Series Land Rover’ aren’t words you often see on the same page, but in the early 1980’s Land Rover did make an attempt to make the Series 3 a little more civilised, to compete with 4x4’s from Japan that had lots of kit. ENB 550Y is one of the reasonably few that left the factory as a County Station Wagon.

‘County Station Wagon’ spec includes twin Defender-style seats with headrests in the front, 4 individual folding seats in the back, all in cloth, fully trimmed interior including headlining and door cards, and tinted glass. It’s certainly a little quieter trundling down the road than the usual Series models with no interior trim are, but still retains it’s essential rugged Land Rover character.

It's further fitted with:

ENB last passed through our hands in 2009, when we sold it as a restoration project. Prior to this it had been in storage for a time, and only had one lady owner from 1994 to 2009. In the intervening 13 years it’s been nicely restored, presumably by the owner who had it 2011-2021. The temptation to fully repaint it was fortunately resisted however, so it’s exterior remains nicely patinated.

Odometer reading 16000 miles, which to avoid any misunderstandings we’re saying is presumed incorrect.

ENB isn’t quite old enough just yet to qualify for MOT exemption, and so it comes with MOT to November 2023 (no advisories) , and 6 months warranty too.

It’s a really original-looking example of a rare and desirable Series variant, and looks especially fetching in it’s original colour scheme, in my opinion.

NB on our videos we said the oil pressure light wasn’t illuminating when it should. We’ve now fitted a new oil pressure switch and it’s working properly.
