It was the first car to be built out of Aston Martin’s new factory in Gaydon, and it was considered such a leap forward from the DB7 that calling it a ‘DB8’ was considered inappropriate by the British manufacturer. The DB9 was a very successful model for Aston and as a result, production was continued right up until 2016.
