1991 LOTUS ELAN

Engine & Performance:

- Original turbocharged SE (the first edition with no catalytic converter)

- Upgraded with high-flow RC Engineering injectors and an Everest performance chip that raises boost (from 0.6 to 0.8 bar) using S2 ECU software – enhancing both performance and emissions

- Turbo filter replaced with a washable K&N unit and a brand new CoolEx oil cooler keeps things cool under pressure

- Runs on super unleaded as recommended by Lotus

Chassis & Handling:

- Uprated brakes fitted by PNM Engineering (4-pot calipers with EBC Green pads up front and improved rear for handbrake performance)

- Fitted with Michelin Cross Climate tyres for year-round grip

- Original Oz wheels, recently refurbished to their classic silver – with a small kerb nick

Interior & Comfort:

- A well-appointed cabin featuring full leather seats (with a signature yellow stripe), Lotus-branded mats, and an Alcantara-trimmed central console

- Upgraded Pioneer stereo with Bluetooth (with a handy mic behind the steering wheel)

- Modern touches like a Lotus Elise metal gear knob (original available if you prefer the classic feel)

- A few minor cosmetic quirks (a missing pedal rubber cover and subtle trim wear) that don’t detract from its overall appeal

Body & Practicalities:

- Generally good bodywork with a few DIY repairs and small stone chips on the bonnet (fibreglass, so no rust worries)

- The hood seals are in good condition and stand up to light to moderate showers, however, they are known to be a weak spot on the Elan, essentially being open-cell foam with a polyurethane spray covering.

- Original alarm (never used) and always kept on a trickle charger so it’s ready to start on the button
