Limited edition Mitsubishi Evolutions have become increasingly sought after, with values continuing to rise. Since Mitsubishi announced the end of its iconic Evolution line, these models have become even more desirable among motorsport enthusiasts worldwide.

About the MR RS Edition

The Lancer Evolution IX MR RS is a lightweight, motorsport-focused variant of Mitsubishi’s flagship performance sedan. “MR” stands for Mitsubishi Racing, reserved for the top-tier models in the Evo lineup. Launched in 2006, the RS features a 5-speed manual gearbox, stripped-down interior, and key upgrades for track performance.

Power comes from a 2.0L turbocharged MIVEC engine producing 280 hp and 300 lb-ft of torque. The turbocharger uses a titanium-aluminium alloy turbine for quicker spool and improved throttle response.

Chassis enhancements include Bilstein dampers, stiffer Eibach springs, and a lower ride height (optional on RS). The Super AYC system is recalibrated for sharper handling, with 10% more torque distribution between the rear wheels.

Visually, the RS has a subtly revised front air dam for reduced lift and drag. It was only available in Solid White or Solid Red. Factory options included lightweight BBS wheels.

Built with motorsport in mind, the RS skips creature comforts to save weight and maximize performance, making it the purist’s choice in the Evo IX range.
