2022 HONDA JAZZ CROSSTAR EX I-MMD CVT

Now, this is the Honda Jazz Crosstar EX and before you dismiss it as something your aunt might drive to the garden centre, let me stop you. Because this isnt just a Jazz. Its the Crosstar, which means it wears its plastic cladding like a rugged little anorak and sits a bit higher, as if it's considering light hillwalking. Its powered by Hondas clever i-MMD hybrid system thats Intelligent Multi-Mode Drive for those of us who enjoy a bit of acronym-based engineering. In essence, it switches between electric drive, hybrid drive, and engine drive without any input from you, and frankly, without telling you either. It just gets on with it. Which is deeply Honda. The 1.5-litre engine and electric motor combination wont make you giddy, but it will return properly astonishing fuel economy, especially around town, where this little red number excels. And thanks to the eCVT, it just hums along in a sort of zen-like way, perfect for calm, rational motoring. Inside, it's absurdly practical, with Hondas famously clever Magic Seats and a raised driving position that gives you a decent view of the road ahead or whatever part of the countryside you've decided to gently conquer that weekend. In short: its charming, efficient, and extremely well thought-out. The Jazz for people who wear hiking boots unironically and I rather like it.
