1979 Alfa Romeo GTV Alfetta GTS. Exceptionally Rare.Fabulous Example.

This is a very rare and special car... A proverbial Unicorn in fact.....

The Alfetta GTS was a UK-only special edition that was produced in 1979-80 with around 50 estimated units manufactured....

It has a number of unique features added to the standard GT specification which includes velour seats, chrome beauty rings on the wheels, rear wiper, Hella fog lights, electric windows, a sliding sunroof, and GTS graphics. Only two are known to survive, This car and one featured in the August 2018 edition of ‘Auto Italia’ magazine , in which the writer mistakenly thought was the sole survivor.....

The car is a right-hand drive, presented today in exceptional condition , running and driving beautifully...

Originally owned by Silvio Gentile and his wife Joy who took it to Italy shortly after buying it. It’s in remarkably rust-free condition because of this . There is a file of service receipts from that time. Silvio replaced the retractable sunroof with a weatherproof steel panel, which is still removable if anyone wants to re-fit a sunroof.....

The car stayed in the favourable climate of Italy until 2017, when it was sold to a UK Alfa enthusiast who carried out some minor cosmetic work. MDZ Italtec in Charlwood, Surrey, have been looking after it since, making sure it’s reliable and roadworthy. It’s been used in a number of Historic Rally Car Register Scenic Tour events, with its last rally being in northern France for the Alfa Club du Nord’s Alfetta 50th Anniversary event in June 2024.....

The car has 76, 300 miles on it which is fully backed up by paperwork and it’s in great condition....

The cylinder head was rebuilt last year, and it has been well looked after since 2017 withy many thousands spent on her with MDZ....

Interior is original, with seats professionally recovered to match the original colour and material....

Carpets are in good condition with no noticeable damage or wear.

Headlining is in good condition.

All buttons, dials, and gauges are in working order.

Original handbook present, along with a Haynes manual.

A comprehensive service file with receipts dating back to new.

Receipts and invoices for all completed work under my ownership are included.

No MOT certificates prior to 2006, as the vehicle spent most of its life in Italy.

Workshop receipts from its time in Italy are included.
