LAND ROVER DEFENDER 130 COUNTY HICAP DCB TD5 2005
The reality of day to day life has meant that I need to realise I should sell my 130, just too many other monetary commitments.
Starting with the basics - this is a 2005, super clean, 99% rust free, original bodywork, original paint, original interior, Land Rover Defender 130. Yes it does have some 'expected' minor nicks and dents but many Defender owners kinda expect this (I'd be happy to have the small dents addressed by a local Paint shop if the buyer wishes for this).
The truck has been protected with Lanogard for numerous years and this has done its job great to preserve the chassis. Paint is metallic dark green, interior is fabric, electric windows work as they should, heater works as it should. Upgraded double din stereo with DAB/Spotify etc.
Non Standard, and the exciting stuff -
BMW M57tu engine conversion (i should add that the original TD5 engine was perfect but I found myself changing gear all the time to keep the engine on boost for modern driving. I didn't enjoy this so opted for a BMW X5 conversion). The M57 engine develops about 250hp and 550nm torque.
Matching X5 6 speed automatic transmission.
New Transfer Box using 1.1:1 gearing.
Modified prop shafts.
LUF 'boosted' brake servo which makes a big difference.
Stainless steel custom exhaust.
Dark Side intercooler.
Silicon hoses.
House of Torque wiring looms and other small bits.
MWM transmission adaptor, engine mounts, and various other small bits.
The work was carried out by a professional fabricator whom specialises in custom car builds. I helped with some of the dirty work and lifting.
Options - You will have the choice of 20" wheels or 16" wheels. Both will come with very good BFG KO2 tyres.
You will also have the option of a expedition aluminium rear canopy with 3 lockable doors. This is very high quality, strong, and cost in excess of £3k.
You will have the option of a full length, galvanised, roof rack. This goes from the front of the cab to the very rear. It also has a side ladder.
I've driven about 1500 miles in it since the engine conversion was completed so its well 'tested'. I've not driven it off-road yet as I've not had the opportunity.
Its a vehicle you need to see if you are interested. It hides no dirty secrets and all inspections are welcomed.
My asking price is already lower than the money which has been spent on it but I also realise 'the market' dictates the true value today. I'm realistic with offers but I don't need negative opinions on this topic, particularly if you've not inspected it.
Thanks all.
