11 years in my ownership, much loved and cared-for car.
I’m only selling this car as I now need the ability to tow, and the ST-3 won’t allow for a tow bar with a central dual exhaust!
I purchased this car second-hand in November 2014, when it was two years old, and had approximately 15,000 miles on the clock. It now has 66,570 miles. It has therefore completed approximately 51,500 (completely trouble-free), miles in my ownership during the past 11 years. It has always performed 100% flawlessly and has never once let me down.
Upon purchasing the car, I took out a Ford Service Plan, which I found made the car very cheap to run. It was always been serviced by either Ford Bromley or Ford Orpington (the latter is now vans only).
I would describe the car as in ‘good’ or ‘honest condition’ for the age of the vehicle: I’m an older driver and this car has primarily been used for work.
In my opinion, the interior is in exceptional condition (except for the drivers’-side footwell, where my heels have worn through the carpet). The Recaro seats are very supportive and in excellent condition, with no significant wear, even to the bolsters.
All four tyres are fairly new; and in good condition, with plenty of wear left. Even the air conditioning is fantastic.
Flaws: Here is a list of all the things I can think of, that could be improved:
Body: One shallow bodywork crease on the rear near side wheel arch (photographed), 20cm long. This wouldn’t necessitate a new panel, and could be brought back out.
Paintwork: There are the usual and expected age-related scuffs and marks. These scuff-marks are well within expectation for a car of this age. I suspect the majority would buff out, except the collection of marks along the top of the rear bumper, at the base of the rear deck. These marks have gone through the paint, and are situated where items have been removed from the rear of the car over the years. Plus, there’s the aforementioned crease by the rear wheel arch. The worst imperfections are photographed, but you will see some minor marks elsewhere on the body.
Wheels: All four wheels have kerb marks (see photographs).
Driver Carpet: This car is completely stock and original, with no aftermarket parts. The drivers’ footwell carpet is original, and is worn through where my heels have rested.
