Description
BMW E30 325i cabriolet
E30 1987 325i cabriolet, 5speed manual 2.5
7 previous owners 93k miles showing on dash.
Un-molested Early facelift chrome bumper 1987 version.
I’ve owenwd since 2023 previous owner acquired it in 2005.
Since 2005 it’s pretty much been dry stored in a garage and bought out on sunny days.
Huge amount of paperwork, a lot of genuine parts bought such as hoses, clips, sensors etc. brand new BMW roof fitted in 1998 and still in great condition due to it being stored inside.
New calipers, Cambelt water pump fully serviced last year along with new alloy radiator as genuine was obsolete back ordered and aftermarket wasn’t available. New breather pipes installed due to a lumpy idle sucking air in after the MAF.
Set of 5 BBS alloys along with matching tool kit in the rear.
New genuine underbonnet sound insulation to go with the vehicle.
Bad parts:
Obviously not a brand new vehicle but a very tidy example.
Paintwork has its blemishes here and there, the odd bit of scabby rust around edges. Chrome is good but again pitted here and there.
Rear plastic window has a small fingernail size hole in one corner but still is functional and hasn’t gotten any larger since me owning.
Houndstooth interior, front half leather rear half cloth for some reason in its life I’d say someone only got the fronts to put in.
Rear roof release catch is loose, could do with a new one but all clips in just a couple of tabs broken still functions and works
Occasionally the ABS light comes on and off.. I suspect it’s a dodgy sensor due to it being sat, but it flicks on and off when it feels like it.
Has a few leaks here and there from the engine, nothing drastic but once parked up over night after using you get a few drops of oil.
Exhaust system has stainless down pipes/centre section coupled to a scorpion back back (the back box is to loud personally and last time I took it out it snapped a rear rubber so cable tied up at the moment I’ll get a new rubber bush) ideally could do with a new system/standard back box putting on to make it look period correct.
2010 the instrument cluster packed up so a second hand unit was sourced. Upon fitting the cluster the clocks wasn’t wound back to accommodate the mileage.
Match 2009 original mileage was 154,009 miles but the second hand clocks installed was 92,900. So there is a discrepancy on the MOT history between 2009/2010. Old clocks still in the pile of parts I’ve got to prove this from the previous owner.
Since my ownership, I’ve used it a handful of times, covered probably around 500miles if that. Any inspections welcome, no test pilots, no low blow offers, grab a real good honest useable e30 325i cab with a mountain of history
