Description
I’m selling my 2008 Lotus Elise S with nearly 68,000 miles, the car is painted in Liquid Blue, and comes with the optional touring pack. It has a complete service history, as well as all original documentation and brochures contained within the Bell & Colvill folder.
As a late 2008 model it comes with the revised dashboard, with updated instruments, airbags, ABS and electric windows as well as the exquisite Probax seats which were fitted to all post-2006 cars. The Touring pack adds the trinket tray divider, auxiliary driving lamps, retractable cup-holder, iPod connection(!), additional leather trim and sound deadening, including the lined soft top. The additional extras include the Liquid Blue paint, matching hard top and air conditioning.
There have been a couple of visual modifications, including the fitment of the rear spoiler and diffuser from the supercharged S2 models, fitted in 2014. It has also been fitted with a full 2Bular stainless steel exhaust system, including the catalyst fitted in 2016, which is said to increase power and torque by around 10%. This also ramps up the noise slightly without being anti-social; more importantly, it sounds great and doesn’t drone like some cheaper aftermarket exhausts do. I’m happy to provide a clip to demonstrate the noise levels if required and there have no emissions issues when it comes to the MOT.
The car is full of stickers from its various jaunts with previous owners, such as visits to Goodwood as well as the Jim Clark museum in Scotland. It has had 4 previous owners and has only been with me for just over a year. The intention was to keep the car for much longer, but we are moving house far earlier than planned after a bit of an upheaval in our lives and as the third car, the Elise needs to be sold to help with funds.
The car drives fantastically and is in excellent mechanical condition. The main negatives are damage to one of the keys after dropping it, though it still functions. The other is the paintwork which has suffered some stone chipping in the usual places such as the front end and ahead of the rear-wheel arches; I’ve tried to photograph the worst of it. There is also a very small crack ahead of the nearside rear-wheel arch as the result of a stone impact, and a small scuff on the nearside front where someone has grazed a kerb or similar, also photographed. Otherwise the paintwork is very bright and looks incredible in person with the imperfections only visible as you get up very close. I’d initially planned on getting all of the above sorted to have it looking perfect but decided that it would likely put me off driving it as often as I have; it still looks fantastic!
The car had a new radiator and A/C condenser, fitted alongside a toe link and suspension inspection in 2023. In 2024 the car had a new throttle body as well as an O2 sensor after an issue that prevented the car running properly. The air conditioning is still much less effective than taking the roof off, but good to have if you’re caught out.
MOT until mid-December, no outstanding finance. The mileage will creep up as I still plan on using it.
Please let me know if you have any questions, I’m more than happy to answer.
