Ford Escort 1600 Sport which was brought in from South Africa about 7 years ago. It was then stripped it to a bare shell, repaired, painted and fully upgraded the car. Its had fortunes spent on it,so you dont need to. We have the V5 here, a spec sheet for what was done to it and 2 sets of keys. We also have photos of the resto available. Body - African Sport shell with extra strengthening similar to our RS models. Underneath is solid and looks very original. Floors are excellent. Has had a new heater bubble fitted during the resto but otherwise looks a good original shell. Painted in Nardo Grey with black sport stripes. The car is very straight along the sides and looks great. Its a brave man that deviates from the norm on one of these cars, but I think it looks superb and you wont park next to one the same at a show, thats for sure. Arch lips have been rolled for the bigger tyres. Sport front spoiler, rubber rear spoiler, quarter bumpers, 2 up 2 down Cibies, shell sport sunstrip. Rally style mudflaps fitted. Mechanics - Heres where a lot of money has been spent, 1700 Crossflow, with pocket pistons, steel rods, Kent 234 Cam, Titan roller rockers, Duplex Timing Chain, Dellorto Twin 40s, Alloy Radiator, Ashley Exhaust, Wosp High Torque starter motor, 5 Speed Type 9 Rebuilt with longer first gear ratio. Quick shift gearstick, 2.8 capri front bilsteins, with uprated front springs, roller top mounts, rear bilstein shocks, decambered leaf springs, rs2000 rear axle with tramp bars and 3J plated Diff and two piece shafts, Alloy Fuel Tank, Aeroquip fuel lines, electric pump, battery in boot, Bias pedal box. On test drive it feels nice and tight as it should as everything has been renewed. My only criticism is the ride is a bit harsh and if you changed it to a standard cross member and mounts it would be vastly improved.
