Description
Build #85 of approx. 100 ever made the Lotus 135r is a track focused special Elise S2 from Lotus Sport and Performance.
This special edition model was created by Lotus Sport and Performance back in 2003 and benefitted from lighter OZ wheels , stiffer suspension , special Alcantara interior, modified cylinder head, uprated intake manifold , different exhaust and reprogrammed ECU plus other modifications. This developed the ultimate road and track car.
Bought as a project by us in 2021 this car was in a sorry state having been neglected then left sitting for quite a few years. Its last MOT prior to our ownership was June 2013
The car has been worked through by myself and has had the following work and new parts fitted.
New cambelt
New clutch
New suspension bushes, bolts. Arms re coated.
Nitron suspension kit.
New discs, pads
New wheel bearings, ARB bushes, drop links all round.
GPR rear lights as originals where beyond repair.
Elise parts rear exhaust system and cat replacement. cat replacement not fitted as doesn't pass MOT on emissions.
New uprated fuel pump
Wheels re furbished with new black bolts
4 new Uniroyal tyres
New Brake lines
Rebuilt callipers front and rear including new seals throughout.
New brake and clutch master cylinders
New gear linkage bushes (upgraded)
New dash plastics
New door glass adjusters throughout.
New door/glass seals and trims
Refurbished drive shafts including new cv boots
New engine mounts bushes
New washer bottle and pump
New door handles inner and outer
New light seals
New indicator seals
Prior to our ownership we have receipts for cylinder head replacement and uprated aluminium radiator fitting along with a replacement front clam. There is also an error in its recorded mileage. We are informed it had a replacement stack dash in between its 2008/09 MOT's. Whilst mileage currently shows as 43k I estimate total mileage to be in area of 70k going by MOT history. Go online see for yourselves.
I have included before and after pictures in the gallery to show work done to components.
The car is in good working condition though needs paintwork to sills at minimum. The R/h being stone chipped and the left partly in primer due to panel repair.
I have enjoyed restoring this car throughout but since its been road worthy we simply don't use it enough, circa 300 miles per year. And following spine surgery last year this car no longer suits me so going caravanning instead! Will PX 2018 Swift Challenger 635.
Priced to sell and taking into account everything mentioned above. The cheapest 135r for sale by some margin. A rare car with only circa 100 produced originally and currently approx. 30 still taxed for the road. This being 1 of them.
