1972 Porsche 911 2.4E - Same Owner 25 years

Originally delivered to its first owner from Porsche Cars Great Britain Ltd on 19 July 1972, the odometer reads 16, 099 miles (116, 099) which is supported by an extensive and detailed history file.
Prior to my stewardship, the car was carefully maintained by five previous owners, with nearly all work performed by respected Porsche specialists: Autofarm, Parr Garage, AFN, Malaya Garage and Autovitesse.
The gearbox was rebuilt at 77, 395 miles by Porsche specialist Michael Gleeson, who also performed a complete engine strip and rebuild at 83, 289 miles.
In 1991 the car underwent a significant body restoration by Porsche specialist Autovitesse at which time the owner opted for Porsche Factory Irish Green over the delivery colour of Sepia Brown (fully documented with owner correspondence).
In 1999, when I took over, I had Autovitesse carry out further bodywork, replacing the wings, removing all rust, treating the underside and inner sections with rust inhibitors, and making good the paintwork.
Porsche specialist Chris Turner then carried out the maintenance work until 2006 (15, 224 miles) when Porsche specialist Steve Bull in Devizes took over.
Since 2007 the car has been kept in dry storage, covering only 875 miles, being started and driven occasionally to keep the engine and components in working order and with repairs and maintenance carried out as necessary. In 2017 (15, 820 miles) the brakes were stripped and rebuilt and an MOT acquired. In 2021 (16, 061 miles): clutch serviced, fuel hoses replaced, fuel changed and treated, and oil changed. In 2025 (16, 088 miles): passenger window motor replaced, batteries replaced, new floor carpets fitted, dash repaired, and fuel replaced and treated.
Please note in the photos the condition of the side carpets, door pockets, and the small holes in the parcel shelf from the speakers which I removed and still have. Please also note the rust either side of the slam panel and the front of the bonnet. A visual inspection of the underside from floor level shows that the underseal is intact and in good condition. There is some rust visible at the front outer edges of both footwells, with a small L-shaped section (maximum 1cm by 2. 5cm) having gone through on the driver's side. I would be happy to provide general or specific floor level photos of the underside upon request.
The car comes with a high-quality bespoke cover and the original Porsche maintenance record book (stamped to April 1992 - 94, 481 miles).
I had intended to keep this car for my retirement years, but a change in personal circumstances means that, reluctantly, after 25 years of ownership, it is time for someone else to enjoy it.
The car is priced taking into account that the new owner may wish to either prepare the car for more frequent driving or undertake fuller conservation or restoration work.
Please feel free to contact me for more information or to arrange a viewing.
Other than a change in colour, the car is an original and complete example in factory specifications, with an extensive and documented specialist Porsche history.
The original number plate was personalised, LUV 4K, and I have this on retention (Original Retention Document V778 Serial Number 9155546). I preferred the more period-looking RYY 828K plate. The current Retention Document states that the car can be reassigned its original LUV 4K plate until 7 October 2025.
