Description

Price is firm it’s the best priced Jensen for sale with some of the highest recent bills by a reputable company and in the best colour! Leaving potential to make this a very well sorted car and to make some money! Especially if your a Dealer/Specialist
Swap / P/X wise I would possibly consider a 8 / low 9 second 500cu+ American Drag car 2 door preferably Mopar + cash my way, an interesting track car or classic such as a Aston Martin/R8/Evora S/American/Ultima GT40 Kit car or I’d be interested in a early 2004/2006 ish Rolls Royce Phantom as a straight swap . WHY
Selling my 1973 7.2L Jensen Interceptor
Please read the full description below, lots of things to mention and be aware of to appreciate the work this car has had done
Priced to sell taking into account that around £70,000 has been invested and many hours of work not recorded, many receipts are present.
I acquired this car a few months ago from a good friend, the car underwent a 5 Year £38,313.86 restoration in 2017 by “The Classic Car Lab” it was received back in 2022.
Classic Car Lab is a well known restoration company currently producing series for TV.
Since the car was received back from CCLab it’s sat in a garage unused and only been driven on and off a trailer.
It still needed some minor fettling before road use. Such as small trim pieces tidying up and a check over.
A Low 58k Mile J Series Factory silver car, the best classiest colour by far in my opinion with the black interior, some Jensen colours and interiors can be horrendous.
This is the closest looking car you’ll get to owning working man’s DB5!
Matching numbers car - if that matters ?
This Jensen was purchased by my friend a few years ago for £23,500.
It’s a well known car on the forum, mentioned as solid example to start with which and stated as having had a bare metal respray prior to going to the Classic car lab.
Taking into account the good reviews this car had in the owners club it still had a poor vinyl roof and the paint/bodywork was still far from pristine.
Taking all this into account it was still a good base to work from.
Shortly after purchase the car was used in a Short Film then after this it was taken to the Classic Car LAB for evaluation and work that resulted in work being done being done totalling £38,000 plus ….
The £38,000 of work included :
Full respray - because after removing the vinyl roof it had corrosion underneath so taken back to bare metal and repaired.
Top of the front wings/panel were taken back to bare metal and repaired and the outer wheel arches where taken back to bare metal and repaired where necessary
The Bonnet although was stated to be in okay condition by enthusiasts on the forum was apparently wafer thin so it was all refurbished.
Welding on the chassis legs, both sides of floor, inner engine bay guttering, inner front windscreen both sides.
Fabrication of new guttering and inner fuel cap
Rear bumper re-chromed
Original seats cleaned up and re coloured
Rewire of headlights, indicators, self repeaters, replace window switches
Gearbox service replace mount, pan gasket , filter
-Drain tap
-Brake caliper refurb
-Nylon bushing/nuts for bumper
-Wheel bearings
-Inertia belts
-Wiper bezel
-Wiper blades
-Window motor assembly
-Door waist rail core unit
The car was then all under sealed at Classic Car Lab to make it a good usable car.
These parts below where not Included in the £38,000 restoration cost and have been purchased since from Martin Robey etc
This totals expenditure on the car to over £45k over the last few years and it has not been used since …..

Original Jensen seats had to be sourced in similar condition to the rest of the interior so it matches as it previously had aftermarket seats fitted. A pair of headrest pillows where also sourced for around £160, So the Interior is now very original and hasn’t been reupholstered as luckily it’s survived in a nice state overall with good patina/character. Some reupholstered interiors look far to over done and tacky this just wants some small bits tidying. The other small jobs I have noticed is the Aerial isn’t working, the small removable jacking point stainless sill covers don’t fit in the slots perfectly the rubbers seem quite poor, left side repeater isn’t working, main beam /foot flasher is not working all low cost jobs but just want sorting I have been through every feature/switch on the the car so there maybe more small bits that don’t work
Comes with lots of receipts, a photocopy booklet from Martin Robey with the Jensen original sales sheets etc
A USB Stick with various receipts, photos from the Ccarlab etc
The old heavy outdated air con system was removed but the pipes / controls have been left in place so if you wish to fit a modern Jensen AC Kit from Fen Air at a later date it should be easy, the brackets are still present.
Has some small blemishes in the paint from being in storage. There’s a small chip on the rear passenger side and a small bubble on the rear boot all could be sorted by a smart repair although it wouldn’t bother many just being honest!
Potential purchasers are welcome to do any necessary Inspections before purchase.
NO returns will be considered after funds have been received.
As good as the car looks remember It’s Over 50 years old now and has potential to be a great investment looking at the prices of other comparable cars.
I am a Private seller and the V5C in in my name.
Thanks for reading all of this and feel free to ask any questions.
Will need to be trailered it will load fine. I would suggest it is commissioned/MOT’D before road use
