This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, The Iconic Sale at Silverstone Festival 2025 - Collectors' Cars on Saturday the 23rd of August, The Wing, Silverstone Circuit, NN12 8TN.

Property of a Gentleman.

Throughout the 1990s, the tuner culture expanded in the Japanese car world, as did too enthusiasm in the UK for modifying standard sports cars and hot-hatches to extreme levels, spending small fortunes on NOS engine upgrades, lowered suspension and more. Ironically, this has increased the desirability and therefore value of period, UK-supplied, non-modified sports cars significantly in today’s market.

At first, Japanese manufacturers could not imagine that a group of youngsters would spend their hard-earned wages on modifying already good cars to make them faster than a Porsche or Ferrari. Having accepted that this was indeed the case, Nissan returned to their world-beating factory sports car concept and the GT-R brand was reimagined as the R35 and formed part of their post-2000 revival plan. Overall development began in 2000, following seven years of detail design and testing, including the introduction of two concept models in 2001 and 2005 and subsequent cars gained iconic status thanks to a new demographic of the PlayStation generation, enthralled by the Fast Furious franchises and who were now old enough to afford these cars and, importantly, could also afford to insure them.

The Nissan GT-R R35 shattered expectations when it debuted, redefining what a high performance car could achieve. Powered by the legendary 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged VR38DETT V6, this Black Edition produces 542bhp, launching from 0-60mph in just 2.7 seconds. Equipped with Nissan’s ATTESA E-TS all-wheel drive system, a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission and adaptive Bilstein suspension, the GT-R delivers breath taking performance while maintaining remarkable usability. This is not just a supercar, it is a legend and this example remains in its purest, most original form.

The Nissan GT-R model line up includes various modified editions, the Track Edition for example, introduced in 2013, focused on weight reduction and improved handling, with a 2019 update adopting the GT-R NISMO's drivetrain. The NISMO variant, launched in 2014, set a Nürburgring lap record. Re-introduced in 2016, the GT-R Black Edition was the first trim level introduced for the car and featured both exterior and interior performance upgrades over the standard car. Its lightweight wheels, carbonfibre rear spoiler and Recaro bucket seats were derived from the Spec V.

Registered to the first of two short-term keepers on 1st March 2016, it was purchased by the current keeper on 18th March 2019. The car is presented to auction with the following - original Nissan Documentation Wallet, GT-R Owners Manual, original GT-R 'Multi Display Owners Manual', original GT-R 'Most From Your GT-R Owner’s Manual', original Nissan GT-R Warranty & Service Book, original Nissan Owners Roadside Assistance pamphlet, tracker documentation, historic MOT Certificates with servicing and health check invoices.

Presented to auction with just 5,695 miles from new, the car was most recently serviced on 21st September 2024, a mere 628 miles ago and the current (advisory free) MOT Certificate is valid until 28th May 2026.

A rare opportunity to get on the ladder of the fastest moving sector of the modern classic market.
