Description

1974 Porsche 911 Targa – 3.0 Litre
Completely restored, Rebuilt 3.0 engine, Rebuilt gearbox
A completely restored and mechanically upgraded left hand drive 911 Targa, originally delivered to Belgium in 1974 and comprehensively rebuilt in 2016. The car was taken back to bare metal with all rust addressed, leaving a totally solid, corrosion free shell finished in Slate Grey paintwork with a complementing Black leather interior. At the same time, the engine and gearbox were completely rebuilt, from top to bottom. Now running a later 3.0 litre flat six producing 180hp, paired with a 5 speed manual gearbox and also benefiting from a Skart sports exhaust and stainless steel heat exchangers. The car pulls very well and sounds fantastic. Suspension and braking systems were also fully refreshed, with new shocks, refurbished calipers and all new bushes. Subtle upgrades include an RS style ducktail, yellow fog lamps, Nardi steering wheel, wooden gear knob and an updated Porsche PCCM head unit to add a touch of modern functionality. The car was previously supplied by Porsche Centre Knokke to the past owner who imported it to London in 2020. The most recent service was in July 2024, by RPM Technik, who also carried out a full engine setup and fitted a new alternator and regulator and tidied some wiring. The car starts on the button and drives as it should. There are some small imperfections in the paint on the bonnet and a small chip on the edge of the rear quarter and there is no past history with the car prior to its restoration, but there are invoices for work carried out since the rebuild. With this in mind the car has been priced accordingly and represent great value for a clean, rust free and well sorted air cooled 911, ready to drive and enjoy with the benefit of the completely rebuilt engine and gearbox. Suppled with 2 keys, a folder of invoices for recent servicing, inspection reports from Belgium and a selection of photos and videos of the restoration work.
