2013 BMW M3 500 Convertible DSG

The M3 has always been the pinnacle of each and every 3 Series BMW. The two previous generations, E36 and E46, were regarded as two of the best ever made, featuring their sublime in line six engines and perfect balance. There was a concern that moving to 8 cylinders for the E92 model would add weight and create a heavy hitting muscle car rather than the precision scalpels that had gone before.

They need not have worried. The block for the M3 was manufactured at the same foundry where BMW-Sauber built the F1 powerplants and the finished engine weighed 15kg less than the outgoing 3.2 litre six that preceded it. All concerns that a V8 would not maintain the lineage disappeared as soon as it was driven. Massively powerful and fast and the engine loved to rev too, 8400 rpm before it hit the rev limiter: unheard of for a V8.

Our car is a 2013 model, built after the start of the next generation of 3 series but still two years away from a new M3 which traditionally take a good while to appear. The car is a Limited Edition "500" model, that designation indicating the total number built. When spread across the three available colours, coupe and convertible body styles as well as manual/DSG, makes this quite a rare car. The 500 came with £4,000 of extras above the standard model including a choice of three exclusive paint colours.

The car is finished in Mineral White with black leather upholstery, which is undamaged, just showing usual signs of wear. The body presents excellently, and we understand was ceramic coated two years ago. The special 19" gloss black wheels are in great condition, and we have just replaced the front discs. The convertible hood works perfectly, and the car is also fitted with a Ghost immobiliser and tracker. It comes with a good service history and those with knowledge of this model will be pleased to hear that the rod bearings were replaced by BMW specialists MStyle, followed by the important running in service. It has clearly been a cherished car.

It has an MOT to April 2026 with no advisories. It has clearly been a cherished car, ready now for some summer road trips. Fairmont have just fitted discs and pads front and rear, and it'll come with an oil and filter change prior to delivery.
