1997 TVR CHIMAERA

The time has come for me to make my T350T dream come true, so that means my special garage kept Moonraker Black 1997 Chimaera with original black & magnolia interior has to make way.

Here's a bit about it:

In my nearly 3 years of ownership and regular use I've always had the renowned RV8 specialists at Lloyds Developments service annually and proactively repair/upgrade my TVR. There isn't much these guys don't know about TVR's and of course the RV8 (they even wrote a book!).They are meticulous and pick up on EVERYTHING that needs doing and do an exceptional job.

Here are the main upgrades I have performed in my ownership:

Upgrade to CANEMS programmable ECU (installed by Lloyds Developments), with their addition bits too (check out their website). This by far was the best decision I have made...smooth power delivery at all rev ranges making it so much more usable at low revs. New Fuel rail, New Bosch EV6 Injectors (previously had ceramic ones but these were recommended).

Replacement of 8mm fuel hoses. Waxoyl service annually (full scrub down). Steering rack seal replaced. Professional Machine polished Stage 2 & Ceramic (Sonax) coat applied.

New JS alloys with super handling Yoka’ tyres which in my opinion has improved the handling over the traditional alloys from factory (these can be included in required).

I purchased my Chimaera from Amore Autos and it came with a bunch of paperwork showing the love, care and attention its had throughout its life. One of the major bits of work carried out April-July 2014 was a complete body off chassis refurb including new wishbones, Powerfelx bushes & Nitron Shocks at TVRSSW. At this point the RV8 was honed and rebuilt to include new cam and followers, bearings, piston rings & gaskets. I have a USB stick with photos of this. This Chimaera is a beaut, the sound from the sports exhaust (like a spitfire!) and the looks it gets are second to none. This colour combo is one of the best, subtle but yet makes a statement.
