2002 Bentley Azure Mulliner

The time has come to say goodbye to my beloved Azure as we embark on building our new showroom and HQ - being an adult is boring sometimes. I bought this car in March this year from a dealer friend who had taken it in part exchange and have absolutely loved it these past few months. I have been to the south of France and back in it and daily driven it, it has never let me down. I have covered around 5,000 miles in 4 months and have grown incredibly fond of the car.

Now, about the car itself. This is 1 of just 24 Azure Mulliner Widebody cars that Bentley produced in right hand drive. This is the full fat, 420hp, Widebody with the front wing vents that other lesser spec cars advertised often pretend to be.

It was delivered by H.R.Owen Bentley on 31st October 2022 and remained with the care of its first owner from 2002 until 2020. The car was put into storage in 2013 where it remained until 2019 with around 23,000 miles on it. In late 2019, the car was serviced following on from its time in dry storage by Bentley specialists West Hoathly Garage in West Sussex. It was sparingly used after the service as it had developed some niggles from its 6 year slumber.

Only after buying this car did I find out that I actually already knew the second owner and I was able to get a good idea of the car's life story. The second owner got the car from his friend (who had had the car from new) in 2020.

In early 2021, the car was sent to Bentley Surrey for a major recommissioning service. One such job carried out by Bentley Surrey was replacing the LCD dash binnacle display (at a cost of over £3,000!) after it had become faulty and then inoperative. As such, the mileage (which is displayed on the LCD display) on the new display was now Zero. The total bill for the recommissioning service from Bentley Surrey came to over £15,000.

In 2023, straight after buying the car, its last owner sent the car to Bentley specialists Hanwells of London for a major service and rectification of some issues with the roof mechanism, suspension, interior trim and power steering. The bill came to just over £15,000. It went back to Hanwells of London in late 2024 for new rear gas springs.

I had the car inspected in March 2025 by Bentley specialists P J Motors. They advised replacing the roof hydraulic hoses, new tyres, wheel alignment and a service. All works were carried out. I fitted new upgraded Hella roof hoses and new Michelin tyres. P J Motors serviced the car. I also fitted a Blaupunkt Bremen SQR43 head unit that looks classic but has bluetooth and DAB capabilities.

Today the mileage reads just under 7,000 - but please note that this is in addition to the 23,000+ miles it covered before the LCD display change in 2021. The car presents very well throughout but there are some stone chips on the paint etc. commensurate with the age and mileage. The interior is in very good order save for a few almost unnoticeable hairline cracks in the lacquer on some of the wooden veneer trim pieces. With all of this in mind, I have priced the car accordingly.

I would sincerely like first refusal from whoever buys this car should they ever sell it. I will be absolutely gutted to see it go.
