Today's North Wales Daily Post has Brunstrom throwing down the gauntlet to Jeremy Clarkson. Brunstrom has said that he agrees to be interviewed on Top Gear, but only if the meeting is held in North Wales, as Brunstron doesn't have time to travel to Surrey, where Top Gear is filmed.

The producers of Top Gear have said that filming of the next series is almost complete, and that they can't fit an interview with Brunstrom into the schedule.

What a wasted opportunity! Surely Top Gear should make time in their schedule for the chance to savage Brunstrom on TV. In all of the previous interviews I've seen with Brunstrom, he spouts spurious statistics that the interviewer fails to challenge, and he always appears to get the upper hand. Somebody armed with the real facts could show him for the lying lunatic that he is!

Is there anything that we can do to persuade JC to take up the challenge?

To be honest, i dont think Clarkson would be up for it. Paul Smith on the other hand most certainly would......wonder if the beeb would like to use him instead?

I would just suggest that JC is frightened of Brunstroom or whatever he is called...

John Snow would tear him apart.

I don't think Clarkson should even try it!

That other presenter on Top gear seems pretty bright, James May I think it is. I reckon he has a fair bit upstairs and could give most people a run for their money in a quiet well evidenced argument.

that had me smirking, even if I hated that show! (except for Connoly's line )

JC would be slaughtered - Brunstorm has been arguing his case for years and JC hasn't. He'd come over all "pro-car" rather than "pro-safety", imo the interview would be better done by James May.

Jeremy Paxman, remember the Bill Gates interview? He'd tread carefully and make sure he didn't trample on any toes...

What's the point of interviewing a nutter who couldn't be honest about the direction the wind blows in ? Like all the SCP's, they bend the truth to fit their cash collection budgets and refuse to discuss or entertain any other views.

Clarkson v Brunstrom? RB would make JC look like a Petrolheaded hooligan.

Brunstrom v Paul Smith. Now that would be interesting! Could someone suggest to the BBC that they agree to Brunstrom's offer, and say they will send "a new presenter" to N. Wales to interview him????

I saw Jeremy interviewing Jonathan Porrit on the mythical global warming. He let Porrit get away with all sorts of crap unchallenged.

I don't think JC has read as much about the myth as some of us and probably not as much about accident stats and speed cameras either.

Sadly the Daily Post has headlined this piece,

"OK Clarkson, come here and say that"

It shows a big picture of Brunstrom and a very small picture of Clarkson which appears to have him almost sitting in Brunstrom's shirt pocket.

Oh YES YES YES
[/MegRyan]

I would love to see that! JC would make Brunstrom look silly, but lose the arguement... Paul Smith on the other hand would run rings around Brunstrom. I doubt Brunstrom would agree to being interviewed by Paul Smith, he knows he would lose

It's not that so much ; it's just that the speed limits are so low in North Wales it now takes about 4 days to get from Telford up to Gwnynedd

first thing that came to my mind as soon as I read it too DeltaF. My vote goes with Paul too, Clarkson is an EASY target for these people.

WHY should an interview be done on Dick'Eds patch?? so that he can censor it beforehand??? or is he too scared to voice his lies in front of 300-odd viewers without protection? He'd probably get torn apart, verbally that is. Mind you I'm sure that the majority here would rather it be literally!!!

I also agree with the majority of posters that JC is probably not the one to interview such a snaky slimy bottomfeeder, as DickEd does have a twisted/ing way with words. It'd be much better to get Paul Smith down to the studio to interview DickEd...he'd slice him up and have him for breakfast......
