What is fair punishment for smashing car windows?
Discussion
I travelled down to the Mother-In-Laws on Friday night
in Hayes, Middlesex ( Lovely area....not ) and parked my car around the corner ( nowhere else ). On Saturday night I went to get in my car to give someone a lift home, only to find one of the windows smashed. No attempt to get in and nick something......just mindless vandalism. So the scrotes "bit of fun " has now cost me £50 excess on my insurance, to get it replaced. ( Incidentally was impressed that Autoglass knew that I was insured, and by which company just from the reg no. ). Anyway, my question to all you PH'ers is what do you think a fair punishment would be for this type of mindless, and pointless vandalism. Personally, this type of crime REALLY pisses me off. Also, what would BiB do if the perpetrators were caught. Have to say I think the answer is going to be nowt. Too busy. Mags will do nothing etc etc. This sort of thing goes on all the time and it is so ing pointless

There was this really big guy in Luton a few years ago who had a new 450 'S'-type Merc. He returned to it in a multi-storey car park just as a scrote was breaking in, having smashed the window and got the driver's door open.
Our rather large friend grabbed the scrote, held his left hand in the door frame and closed the door onto his fingers in a not-too-gentle way - apparently you could hear the cracking noises!
A lovely and true story, but I suppose if the srote had reported it and had any evidence, the penalty on the Merc owner would have been greater than that for the criminal damage.

Cooperman.
You and I came out of the same pod, only 20 years apart
iunsurance companies should have the rite to pursue the offender who caused the damage to stump up. And if that means sending in a bailiff then so be it.
So, scrote smashes your window. £50 excess, £ 150 for new window, £100 admin fee, £500 loss of earnings, £2500 compensation for mental stress.
that's about £3300 isn't it, and the scrote has to pay it.
If he can't, then how about £1000 a finger/toe.
And when he hasn't got any left, he can't sling bricks anymore!

Well it sounds like we could do with more people like your mum in Mag Courts. Send her our best!
I remember going to a job a few years back at a pretty rough pub on the outskirts of Bournemouth where there was a "disturbance". I arrived to see a local chav (they weren't called chavs in those days tho) standing by a car with a broken window. Chav was holding his hand and obviously in agony
The owner of the car was still holding the chav by the wrist...
Nothing was going on, apparently.

Hi madant69.
Appreciate your comment, but it is true to say, is it not ( FFS I sound like a barrister ) that if I were to slam the scrotes hand in my door, and he reported it, I would come off worst at court.
