the only way to beat the scamarati
Discussion
And it hurts me to say it, but obey the speed limit.
There's a huge gravy train trundling along at the moment that's at risk of running off track. The fact that they are lowering trigger limits proves this when you think about it. Drivers are slowing down and they aren't getting any revenue to fund their growing empire. This means they are financially worried, SO, for a couple of (what will be) extremely enjoyable months, drive live a snail!.
If Captain Speed Cam (or whatever he's called) decides to trash a few cameras as well - all the better.
Huge empire, spiralling running costs, no income.
Who's going to bail them out?. The government?
Spend millions repairing cameras that never do anything?. Think not.
Talivans, Gatso's, and associated parasites earing their 3 pieces of silver, ALL GONE.

This is not going to help at all.
Scamerati will just lower thresholds further, and councils will lower limits until they get their CASH.
It is a TAX, and TAX evaders will be caught eventually.

Use the B roads instead, no scameras..... Then try to do the journey in less time than you would on an A road.... It's a win-win situation
B roads here have cameras.![]()
..... But not where you can drive very fast and have 'accidents'![]()
Ours don't... You can quite happily drive yourself into a hedge at xxxMPH.... But it must be very safe as there are no scameras

I confess that I have some sympathy with Bryan35's view, I too think that "starving them" is the only way. It will not as we all know prevent accidents, but, when they have no income from speeders and the accidents are still there, they will have some explaining to do. Their much publicised reason for being will be in tatters, and ALL will finally see through the spin.
I drive around as part of my job (mmmh! semi-locally), staying within the speed limits. I look at it this way, it's my employers problem not mine, I have an 8 hour day and anything that can't be done is left for tommorrow or overtime at "time and a half". If it's affecting their business, then let them argue with the authorities over it.
In my own time, I always take my driving holidays in Europe where these parasites can't get my money. I don't travel or spend much here now, the UK tourist industry MUST be suffering as I'm not the only one.
Last one out, switch out the light! (probably someone from BRAKE, Greenpeace or one of the many SCP's).

Road safety is going downhill either way. Having zero convictions and zero income with widespread adoption of scamera's will "maybe" prove they don't work when accidents keep rising.
However, this may lead to further reduction of limits, since people MUST be going too fast still.
On a side note, three of my immidiate family, including me, have all had our cars written off in big accidents in the last 11 months, by other drivers.
Mine was a head-on with a motorbiker overtaking into me. 25 ish year old driver.
My dad had a 306 coming sideways round a corner at him, which hit a tree on the verge, went airborne and landed in the roof of my dads 4x4. 17 year old driver.
My brother had a car pull last minute across the front of him on a dual-carriageway. Mid-30's driver.
Nice to see the roads are getting safer and safer with all these scamera's..
None of us have had any big crashes except my brother 5 years ago, then all of a sudden three crashes in one year
Shame that road safety policy really is getting that bad! So many shite drivers on the roads
When will they realise it's not speed that kills, it's shite drivers!!!

This method would seem sensible. However sense has never played much of a part in road safety!
If the SCPs are starved of revenue they will point to the fact that accidents haven't fallen, and rather that interpret this as a failure, they will state that the cameras aren't working because speed limits are still too high. You have to remember that as far as the SCPs are concerned speed is the only issue . If cameras fail to make revenue they will campaign to have speed limits lowered..... NSLs to 50mph, 50mph to 40mph, 30mph to 20mph and 20mph to get out and push!
The only way to stop this theft is for everyone pinged to go to court. The courts are close to breaking point as it is. If everyone exercised their rights then you'd have to wait years to be seen by the magistrate.....

My belief about all this is that due the pressures of "globalisation", governments the world over are scrabbling to reduce their dependancy on direct taxation. Hence the rise of the PFI's, moving the cost from government to the user (remember Mrs T's polluter must pay?).
In Britain, road policing has been "privatised" by stealth, and to my regret, it was a so called Labour government that did it, just one of the reasons I did not vote for them this time.
Unfortunately when you privatise something, you bring in with that the drive for profit. The scamerati are STILL denying that, but reason says they are lying. They are in all but name, private companies.
Some things like road safety, should NOT be run for profit.

They want their cash und two things will happen to protect their jobs...one being constant lowering of speed limits so the only people acutually breaking this limit will be pedestrians und cyclists...
![](http://www.pistonheads.com/include/images/ranting.gif)
Or they will keep limits as they are - und it will be abslute zero tolerance without a 10%. Swiss introduced 3mph across all speeds when we all complied....

Ist never ever been about safety. Ist always been about creating a job for the otherwise unemployable

Is this true? Do magistrates really sit at the Scamerati table?

Bleeding them of their cash is a problem. Bear in mind that scameras are costed according to how much money they'll get, as part of the general road budget.
Don't give them what they want - and they'll make life even more difficult.
The way around it is, yes, to avoid speeding near them, but perhaps more importantly, to lobby against this for-profit road 'safety' campaign.

Believe me I would LOVE to see you out of a job, in fact even on the streets begging for money because that is hopefully that is the way it will go.
I wish you pestilence and famine you leech.
I couldn't really care to be honest, I've retired twice and don't need a job. It's a nice feeling, you may sample it in years to come.
