don't seem to have seen some of the familiar BiB names here over the last week or so. Have they gone away? Did I miss something? Am I imagining it?

It gets really tiresome defending yourself against people who just post on here to bait, so I think a few BIB no longer bother.

Still here, not so much to add now I'm wearing a suit to wrok. Had rather a lot on my plate on the home front, too.

When I have something useful to add, I'll still post. I feel a little irrelevant sometimes - it's amazing how much has changed in the last 15 months or so since I deserted the sinking ship...

You're wearing a suit to wrok ? Sounds like fun

* s59/no insurance powers now being used

* Pursuit policy has changed

* Roads policing is apparently not just for road policing (traffic) officers, everyone can do it. RPU officers are part of neighbourhood policing...

General changes/shifts in legislation - although I'd also be deskilled in the areas that haven't changed, just becuase I've not been doing it for that length of time.

We have noted less police when in the area of UK you work in - Liebchen. We hear of a lot of accidents though - und more in your patch of M6 than before too.

Too many scams und not enough real people doing the job properly.

Am glad your change of direction in sleuthing ist working out though. All BiB are needed in each field. I just would like to see MORE of them!

Can I ask if there are any BiB that would be willing to advise off the record on how to deal with an anti social motoring matter that is now becoming quite dangerous.

If there are please can you mail me.

Thanks in advance.

Catherine - number of ways. Depends on what it is. If you know your local officer, you could ask him/her to knock the door and have "a word."

Alternatively, if it is a case of a chav driving like an expletive, you could place a note under his wiper along the lines of "If you don't stop driving like a w*nker in this area, I'll nail my next request to your 4 tyres."

Or, as I once learnt after the event when I was a Community Beat Officer; my "quiet word" had no effect and wouldn't you know it, the chav car was the unfortunate victim of a signifciant hit and run accident, writing the chavmobile off. Naturally nobody saw anything, despite the worthless scrap motor being abandoned at the scene and the driver running off.

It was quite a tough area, but my parishoners did have what you might call "community spirit."

Would be useful/interesting to know how many BiB's do post here. As far as I know there are xxplod, dibble, mungo, lambocop, dvd (retired) and vonhosen ( police related I think).

...and Silverback mike and mg6b and Gemini, but I haven't seen anything from Tonyrec or Will Crash for a while.

I trust you are OK chaps?

Best wishes all,
Dave.

I think mg6b is gone?

I remember Tonyrec introducing his colleague to us several months ago, can't remember his name but a polite chap, and after some discussions about cameras/ mobile cams causing panic braking, to which they both wouldn't accept, I haven't seen either of them since.

I`m still here, just watching in the back ground and being very busy at work training new Police drivers..............and not missing Traffic Patrol at all.
Apparently it`s gone figure crazy and there aren`t enough experienced Traf Pol anymore.

You're kidding, right?

Aren't those camera thingies much better than "bums on seats"?

Well I cannot say I feel that safe if in LanCASH£re...

Do not know why the locals there all like to think they drive in EU. Have the rules changed to driving on the right there? They may drive slowly - but I could not honestly say I think these locals are safe to be near.

I agree.

Dumming down of drivers to go ever slower is just losing their ability to think for themselves, as only obsessed with how fast they are going.
More drivers now flash their lights at you when you overtake in perfect safety, even an elderly resident in my own street. (we now try and avoid each other, as leave at same time in morning)
