Published in the newspaper! (pics included :D)

Hi everyone, hope your well.
Received a phone call the other day from Clevedon Mercury (ok not that great but hey, ive got plenty of years left to make it into big papers) asking me some details, name, age etc. They said they would like to publish one of my pictures as an entire page! I was quite pleased and i have included what it looked like!
I know the pictures aren't great but i never realised how difficult it was to take pictures of a newspaper page! Even with my nifty 50 on the 40d they look totally crap. Hey-ho, i've included the actual photo as well so the newspaper pictures dont ruin its impression on people;
Was quite chuffed! only another two weeks till i am back at school and i can see my pictures on the new school planner!

No, I entered their life through a lens competition (god only knows why after the fuss last year, but lets not talk about that) and they said they would like to use, rang me up and asked me a few things. Some of the quotes i did not say but never mind!

A mate of mine is a pro sports photographer and often he'd ask if I'd like to 'assist'. This meant getting into a footy or rugby match for free, sitting next to him behind the ad hoardings (or often om the edge of the pitch for the rugby games) as he snapped away. I hold his laptop and come half time, I'd hand it over and he'd prep the images and send them off.
So... at a Heineken Cup game at Northampton, he took a bit longer than usual sending the images off so chucked me his camera and told me to snap away if anything interesting happened while he finished off.
I'd like to thank Ben Cohen for scoring the try just after half time and the piccy was in a number of the mainstream Sunday papers and syndicated worldwide
