Tony Vile (TVRCC UK Treasurer) has told me that there may be a problem with the UK Club handling the entries - because of the accountants.

I don't know yet what payment options will be available for UK entrants but I am happy to be an information resource.

Thanks Russ. Intresting comment abot TVRCC GB and the payment, but the important thing is we can now book the ferry.

Edited to add.....I see this info is not on the UK car club site. Am I missing something?

Hmmmm, right at the beginning of the World Cup too.

And only two weeks after Woodwork 26....

So many events, so little time to fit work in See you in the Hotel, assuming it's not full of Paraguayan football things

Hey Good news indeed, I will be there again this year and no doubt have several other members of the West Sussex brigade with me.

There is, or should be no question of the TVRCC GB in not running this event, it is no different to running Le Mans. So lets not have any more of this silly talk! and lets give this event all the support that it deserves.

If TVRCC UK don't act as intermediary then the major problem faced by UK members is paying for the event.

TVRCC NL don't have a way we can pay them by Credit Card, I have looked into paying direct into a Dutch account - it costs about £20 (depending on your bank). Opening a Euro account looks to cost about £7.50 per month (unless you want to leave about £2000 to £5000 in there permanently).

Does anybody have any better ideas?

Great news! It isn't even on the Dutch site.
Quite early in June this time, isn't it? Might make it after all!

Perhaps it is possible to organise a paypal account for the event.

Russ, if the English club won't play ball (and at this moment I can't see why) Then it is not the end of the world for us, as the club (i.e. me as former treasurer and last year Tony Vile)always increased as you know the cost of Zolder to cover the admin costs, i.e. credit card charges and office time and postage. So therefore even if those participating this year have to do there own money transfers, Zolder will not cost them anymore, and might even be a tad cheaper.

I think that the Dutch club can help out here, as the TVRCC GB have a euro account and are able to send euros direct by cheque, and not by the expensive method of European bank transfers. Therefore, as the treasurer is now only a voluntary post, he doesn't have to take time off to do the transfers in person at a Lloyds Bank.

If all fails, and I don't think for once that it will, then I am sure there are ways around this, outside of the TVRCC.

ditto provided that I can get a quiet exhaust made by then...It's a long way to go for 0.25 laps without the silencers before being black-flagged Two silencers killed the power and one still caused an initial blag flagging....

I'll look into support and logistics from TVRCC (GB) and revert to SlackAlice.

Would have picked it up sooner had it also have been on the TVRCC site!!

Just heard back from Springbok, and good news, the TVRCC GB will be doing the bookings and looking after the money side for us.

Good news indeed, so business as usual, however one thing that did come up in the conversation was that people were charging items to there rooms last year, and then leaving without settling there bill. Oh dear, always a shame that the few spoil it for the rest.

Look forward to seeing you all again this year, and I hope all in one hotel !!!!

Cheers

Laurence

Great news, probable price increase and having to wait forever for the booking forms!
