Does anybody know the weather conditions over there at the moment? Looked pretty nuch snowed in on the web cam last week and this seems to be down at the moment.

Hope it goes ahead, fingers crossed.

Our correspondant in Adenau says there was a large deposit of snow last night, and the forecast is for more.

Local forecast for the next seven days is for snow on six of them.
The predicted high temp for the next week is +3, on one day.

Looks like there may be a respite from the snow the end of next week:

Not packing my bag quite yet however.

There is always the Michael Schumacher indoor Go Kart track
up the road ( about 45 mins away )
Now that would be a laugh !

Me too, but tunnel at 12.30, this hopefully will be the first time out this year in the RS so eager to get it out and stretch its legs.

Will be gutted if it's cancelled.

I have booked this but will reserve final decision until Wed of next week.

That forecast does look slightly positive towards the end of next week but there appears to be a lot of snow falling during the week.

When will people be making their go/no-go decision?

Cheers,
Brendon

The webcam is now working again.

And the place is looking more like a ski resort.

I've booked for the trip and also booked Stephan Klepkens (ace instructor, one of only 3 industry recognised instructors for the Nurburgring) for the 13th. He's after a few more hours of instruction on the same day - anyone interested contact me

Buckets more snow over the weekend chaps. I had a look up at Döttinger Höhe yesterday and there's tons of the stuff.

This was in an email from Graham Clarke today:

[quote]

As you are probably aware there is still snow at Nurburg. Having just spoken to our contacts out there I have been assured that it is going to rain tomorrow and that the rain will wash away the snow and that we should not worry.
Whilst accepting the locals understand the idiosyncrasies of their rather unique climate better than I do it is difficult to share their degree of confidence, as such we are holding on until the last possible minute before making the final travel arrangements.

The purpose of this email is to advise you of the possible problem. We will update you as soon as possible however if we are unable to reach you by midday Friday please call us at the office on 01628 779000.

In the meantime please keep your fingers crossed!

What a load of bollox It's due to snow later today and tomorrow, and even if it didn't, it's -3° up there at the moment and covered in three weeks worth of snow. Here's the deal, if the track's open this weekend, I'll eat my pants

Give Graham a chance - it's his job to be (blindly) optimistic!
