As the title suggests really. Started new job as a second hand car salesman. Money is......Well.....ccensoredp But in my first 2 days i have sold 4 cars!

So all going well, but before i accepted the job i had a interview with another company and they told me that they would let me know by the 8th of Jan if i'm succesful or not. I couldn't wait that long with no money so took this job. The other job pays better but the hours can vary more, the car sales job is less money working 6 days a week, 8:30 start 6pm finish. The car sales place has lent me a car while i don't have one and have been helpful.

What i'm really asking is if you was in my situation what would you do? And how would you go about telling the car sales place that you would be leaving after such a short time? This is of course if i get the other job just would like some advice if possible.

Also the car sales job was found for me through a very good friend who is the car sales mechanic.

Advice apreciated.

The company you work for won't think twice about getting rid of you, so, if the new jobs better, that's where I'd go.

What would your current employer do if they decided they didn't need you any more? Hold onto you or tell you to go? You owe them no more than they owe you...

Look after yourself first.

Have you signed a contract? You may have to give notice.

I really couldn't cope with that.

Go with your gut instinct about which you'd rather do, don't worry about any notion of loyalty.

Obvious question but what do you want to do?

What's the other job? Same thing, more/less stability etc.

"whose side are you on?"

"same side I am always on. mine."

Stay where you are. If you get a better offer, leave. End of story.

How about take the next offer if it comes through, but carry on working part time for this lot?

That way you should get to keep the loaner, and get a bit of extra cash at the same time smile

As has been said, look after number 1 but also be aware that money isn't everything so have a good think about which job you would PREFER to do.

Your right about the motor trade, it get's you. I sold another 2 today. We'll see what the 8th brings, as said it may not happen at all. Thanks for the advice.

Good man.

Keep doing what you're doing, it is selling cars. Don't get lazy, don't cut corners, don't get cynical, keep the enthusiasm you have now and you'll keep selling plenty of cars.
