In what is arguably the most exciting thread on PH since, ooh, 2003, I'm looking for opinions on where to stick my front number plate. "Up your arse" has already been rejected. I mean, below badge, on bonnet etc?

Ta smile

PS - I've read the varying opinions on the legality of this and decided I'll risk it

Between the side lights, but really you need to whip the badge off, otherwise its too low, and on the bonnet is too high..

I put mine below the badge

I did the same with the one on the original bumper as well.

Love that paint, is it resprayed or just lots of elbow grease?

Hmmm, might have to rethink this. Have removed the existing plate and the mounting plinth has marked the bumper paintwork at the corners, which wouldn't be covered by the stick-on. Might just go for it and deal with the paint another day as the rear bumper could also do with a bit of paintwork TLC so could kill 2 birds with one stone.

She doesn't have any holes as she had to have a new bumper fitted after finding a spare wheel on the motorway rolleyes
It's the same place I have mine fitted (I'm also hole-less):

When I had a Mk1 I also fitted a sticky plate low - that was to cover the scratches caused by the old plastic plinth rolleyes

like the idea of putting a sticky over the old plinth holes on my MK1. Does anybody have any tips on how to make the plate sit in/over the bumper groove on the mk1 as if I just stick it on then water and crap will be able to get behind it via the groove.

Options so far:
- Cutting - possibly making it hard to read / illegal
- forcing the sticker into the groove when applying but would be tricky to get right and could cause same issues as above
- filling the groove where the plate will be - might as well fill the plinth holes and locate sticky elsewhere defeating object of putting plate in same place as standard. also no Idea what to fill it with that would stay in, not mess up the paint or look cack!

Any ideas welcome.

I would have thought Option 2 wouldn't cause that much of a problem. If you shape the flexible sticky plate to the groove it should be ok, the groove isn't that deep?

Must get around to getting a sticky plate for ours:

I got told off by a French policeman last week who told me it was a illegal to have no number plate on the front of the car (it's tucked in the dash). It was a bit late really as he was on the border control as we were waiting to get on the ferry to come home hehe
