Outskirts of Birmingham - Suggestions for Dinner
Discussion
I'm staying in a hotel this evening on the outskirts of Birmingham (postcode: B35 7AF) and was looking for a half way decent place for dinner tonight.
Not looking for anything overly expensive - I was thinking around a tenner for a main or similar and wanted some suggestions??
Don't fancy Indian, other than that fairly relaxed.
Any local knowledge??
We ate in the place next to the hotel last night, but I was wondering about going a bit further afield??
Cheers

They are prettty good food, i tend to go to another of their restaurants in oldbury. They are good and a nice change. Chain is connected to Ken Hom.
Another option is a number of pubs in coleshill which is not far.
Can't really help you but I've just looked at the postcode in Google maps,

Christ almighty what a location you've picked to stay at. Cosied uo the M6 and sandwiched between three of the choicest sink estates the city has to offer.
With that in mind you're best bet is to follow the A38 into the city and follow the signs for Brindley Place or if you want a drink then get a cab down to the Grimstock in Coleshill.
Failing that grab a quick twofer at the Jester and spend the rest of your evening inhaling paint fumes from the Jag works whilst pressed against the glass at the Lambo dealers round the corner.

Good suggestion. If only it was closer!! I won't be able to leave here until around 7:45 at the earliest so will get there quite late. Have looked it up and I would like to get there early if I'm going. I may go (on my own!!) on Friday though!! the top 20 eating places in birmingham in one area.

Tell me about it!! Nearest hotel to where we need to be though!! Drove past the Lambo and Bentley dealer(s) last night and they did look a tad out of place!! I guess going into town is going to be the best bet, just take a while getting there/back.

If you get bored you can always walk round the corner and press your nose against this window:

Dammit...... Took me so long to work out how to link a street view address that I've been beaten to it

The only logic I can see in locating the dealerships there is cheap land leasing, or possibly the fact that the twisty d/c they're on has no gatsos and is quite often lightly trafficked...

Half an hour down the M6/M42 is Solihull, not a bad place to go out for a bite, just wander round Touchcloth and see what grabs you.
Alternatively there are some nice restaurants in Knowle, there's a Thai place on the high st that's good, or some nice country pubs (Heron's Nest on the A4141 Warwick Road just past Knowle).

About a 5 minute drive from where you are.
If you fancy a bit of a drive, I was going to suggest Lapworth, but thats probably half an hour from the hotel.

That Place has to be a white elephant...has to be. Apartments? Don't make me laugh!
The roads are the only plus point....nice sweeping high speed bends!
OP....if I were you, I'd just head into town. Not too far and preferable to the alternatives!

Other option is the very cheap Toby carvery in Coleshill - £2.50 for a main course, and it wasn't "too" bad
