Which Panasonic Plasma
Discussion
I'm sorry to be a numpty as I'm sure this question as been asked 1,001 times before but.....
I want a Panasonic Plasma telly. I currently have an (old) Panasonic Plasma (five years old) which works perfectly, but I want HD.
I do know I want to stick with Panasonic and with plasma, but I'm undecided as to which one to go for:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/search/ref=sr_nr_p_n_fe...
Budget: around £700 - £900. My current one is 42", so maybe between 42" and 50". I watch mainly drama and films.
Any suggestions please.

get the G20
if that blows the budget then get the S20 which is the next best thing
panel isnt quite as good and it doesnt have the internet stuff
Bought a 42" G20 from PixMania a couple of weeks ago, plus got a few pounds back via Quidco. Delivered by the Currys group 4 days later.if that blows the budget then get the S20 which is the next best thing

Very happy.

All the reviews and forum posts I've read state that aside the LG reflective screen, there's not much in it.
Even if there is, the glowing reports that the LG gets means that it will more than suffice for my needs and the G20 (whatever it does better) would be overkill.
I am easily pleased and don't sit there analysing black levels on movies. I don't even watch many movies and those I do are more about actors performances, good script and plot rather than visual Blockbuster crud. I guess I just want a large general TV for the family.
I've had my industrial model 2001 Panasonic TH42 for almost 10 years now ! That was the first plasma that was any good and I was probably one of the fist guinea pigs in the UK to buy one for home use. Its not even HD and must be seriously underperforming after 5 hours use plus per day for 9 years ..... but its never bothered me or looked substandard to me. I did take a look at the black levels for the first time the other day and yes, they are pretty atrocious ! but I cant say it ever bothered me or was something that I noticed.

Jesus, it's like pulling teeth.
Go and see them both, decide which is best for you, buy it, unpack it, watch it.
Stop reading reviews and nonsense on forums and decide with your eyes.

Pixmania is or was a trading imprint of Comet.
Wonder why DSGi are fulfilling their orders.
Curious
No - it never has been Comet - DSGi is correct.Wonder why DSGi are fulfilling their orders.

I would probably buy a Panny is buying again - but we love our Pioneer 42 - just wish we had the guts to double our original budget and get the 50 incher when we bought.
