Nnnnoooooooooo!

I have just seen an advert for big brother 2011 coming soon to channel 5.

Apparently it's going to be bigger than ever before!

I don't know why, but I now feel in a bad mood. I honestly thought it had been done with. Even channel 4 had kept it running for 7 years too many.

Why oh why do channel 5 think that they will be able to attract the viewers?

I'll let you into a secret - you don't have to watch it.

Works for me.

Don't worry, I am familiar with how a remote control works and didn't plan on watching it, like I didn't with all the rest.

What annoys me is that no matter his much you stay away and don't pay any attention to it, other people do, and then said people go on about it to people like me who don't care.
No matter how much you tell them you don't care and dont want to hear, they still just go on, week after week.

Last one was even mentioned on the news on more than one occasion, and that really grinds my gears.

THat would definitely annoy me to.
I would think "Hmm, am I so boring that people would rather talk about BB than whatever I wanted to talk about"

I can't quite tell if you are agreeing with me, or being sarcastic and implying that I am boring !

The publicity is working because even PH is talking about it now!

It's on because Ch5 paid a lot for the rights, even in the dying days on Ch4 the viewing figures were enough to make execs at Ch5 do a sexwee. There are still enough deluded TV wannabes queueing up to be on it and its cheap to produce. Added to that the coverage in the glossy mags and the tabloids, it's happy days for the producers.

This works a treat, and not just on BB. You can use it for football, daytime TV, soap operas, and so on. The next time someone complains about something on TV that they don't like, this bit of advice should be the first thing posted.

It used to bemuse me how there were so many threads about Kerry Katona, or Katie Price, and how much people did not like them. Turn the channel. Don't watch...problem solved.

No its not. I won't watch BB, and I never have, but if I switch on Radio 1 in the morning while in the car, they'll be on about it, as will various other bits of media that I may catch a glimpse of during the day.

To pretend you can completely avoid is it a fallacy.

Then you should listen to grown up radio stations and not read the Sun.

And you can change those stations too. You will hear things in passing, but so what?

Radio 4 hardly ever mentions BB or its ilk. A safe haven - on the whole - from the dross of the rest of the media.
