Girl sends rejection letter to Oxford
Discussion
Is this an example of how dumb people have become?
She was offered a place to study Law at Magdalen College, Oxford. She sent them a joke rejection letter as a spoof of the type most applicants will have got.
She now 'hopes' to get a place at UCL!

Personally I hope she gets rejected and ends up at a polytechnic due to her own stupidity.

I understand her thinking a little bit, and she is young and idealistic. But really, she's got a big chip on her shoulder, and if that was realy her reason for rejecting the offer, why apply? And surely doing Law, she'd have to get used to archaic institutions and ancient legal processes which people have a lot of respect for.
Oh well, good luck to her in her chosen field....

As to being offered a place, does the story not say that she sent the rejection letter after the interview, with no mention of the outcome?
Being at the interview made her realise something - how likely is that with an application made under all the negative publicity and from an evident self-publicist.
Getting out of the kitchen to escape the heat has taken on a new fangled wrapping.

I find it amusing how she's in this little bubble, where she thinks that she's awesome, and super funny, and presumably can't see what the rest of us do.
Namely, a f
king stupid little girl that's more than likely just completely f
ked herself over for life.
Her chance to become a barrister has slipped down. Unless the Inns have not discovered google.Namely, a f

While I can see her point I think she is appl;ying for the wrong plces if she has this point of view. I went to UCL. Its no less Elitist
and wanting to be a lawyer and yet saying this:
"She said: "Oxbridge is a fairly ridiculous and prominent elitist institution, yet unlike the monarchy or investment bankers it is rarely mocked."
Its fashionable to mock bankers. Its part of western civilisation to mock Lawyers.
