From the C2C Website The British Transport Police have made the following statement to the Southend Echo:

"At 6.51am BTP were called to the Castle Lane area of Hadleigh, Essex between Benfleet and Leigh-on-Sea following a report of disruption to power lines in the area and a body on the railway embankment.

“BTP, Essex Police, East of England Ambulance Service and Network Rail attended the scene and the body of a man in his 40s was found beside the line. He appears to have been electrocuted.

“This death is currently being treated as unexplained. The possibility that this death is related to an attempted cable theft is one line of enquiry at this time."

We do sincerely apologise for the disruption to your journey this morning and will continue to provide further updates on this page.

Score one to C2C.

I am sure this individual will not be a member of any specific community.

Thats a shocking and dreadful implication

It has a very nasty under current and has the potential to get you charged.

How would you like to come ohm and find that your relative had suffered from this

My current line of thinking is that he ended up there after volting a fence or wall. I find this to be high tension stuff.

The thief may have paniced. When dealing with high voltages it's important to think clearly and ensure your Edison your shoulders

Yes well at least now he has blown out he won't be charged. If they had caught him at it he could have resisted arrest meaning a stretch inside where we are running low on capacitor already... ok I am oot bad puns now.

I can't believe the puns this thread is generating.

On the upside, C2C expect the delays will only last Faraday.

Apart from a set of jump cables and an extension, they have very few leads.
