Quite a hostile and defensive response from Mr Coe.
Why can't he admit they made a James Hunt of it.

Well, they are clearly not, and it's the Emperor's new clothes to suggest otherwise.
If however they have been purchased by sponsors who have failed to make sure they're used, I can't see that's the fault of the organisers.
I think at Wimbledon they are allowed to re-sell tickets where people couldn't bother their arse to get there. They should do that at all olympic venues

I'd guess at 20% empty at Greenwich Park yesterday and the food was a complete fiasco.
That said however, it was an epic epic day and the actual logistics of getting in, even with the security was brilliant, the armed forces who were managing the security side couldn't have been more polite and expedited the process very well and on the whole it was a truly wonderful day extremely efficiently managed.

There is a re-selling booth at the main Olympic Park.If however they have been purchased by sponsors who have failed to make sure they're used, I can't see that's the fault of the organisers.

I agree, that's how it was spelt in my country when I went to school.
I was taught gunwale or gunnels as in 'full to the gunnels' Whatever the accepted spelling is, how utterly sad is it that a government Minister and major organising official can be interviewed about the very obvious empty seat situation and blatantly lie to us that the empty seats do not exist?
And they wonder why we have no faith in them.

And to say as well the Olympic "family" had to decide which event to attend or where else they were needed is an insult too.
If they have a ticket for ONE event (or have duties elsewhere) why do these greedy fkers get their noses back in the trough for another set of tickets that conflict? Oh yeah, coz they're greedy fkers!

The fact there are empty seats yet there are people quite willing to pay and fill those seats but can't isn't really on though.
Maybe they should just say 30mins after the event starts we'll fill the seats for free?
This is the answer, but I'd give them out free at 10 mins.Maybe they should just say 30mins after the event starts we'll fill the seats for free?
By the way, well done with the Silver medal Lizzy Armitstead !!

So you are going to ignore basic property rights?Maybe they should just say 30mins after the event starts we'll fill the seats for free?
Someone buys a ticket then they should be free to do what they like with it, including not turn up or arrive as late as they want.

I'm not no because i have no say in the running of the olympics, but empty seats does not look good and if the owner of the seats can't be bothered to attend then tough.Someone buys a ticket then they should be free to do what they like with it, including not turn up or arrive as late as they want.
