Agreed!!!!! However he is eminently suited to the role, having run up huge debts for the UK - just the type of activity that gives the IMF a chance to make a _lot_ of money. I bet they love him there.
It is also interesting how his 'socialist roots' have allowed him to pursue possibly the most capitalistic job on the planet.

Gordon Brown - an excellent IMF leader. His global leadership in the aftermath of the banking collapse (which no one in the world forsaw) led the way. He has a sound grap on how to get out of recession and reduce deficit, by growing economies with everyone working and paying tax. This contrasts with Cameron axing us into depression,
Global? Check. Leading the world? Check. Blame the banks? Check. Lie that no-one saw it comming? Check. Push labour's approach of more tax whilst attacking "tory cuts"? Check. To tightly written to be anything other than a professional spin-merchant.
Some of those comments are hilarious. There are some seriously deluded people out there:

What a pity that Mr Cameron can't see that without the expertise of Mr Brown the country would be in a much worse position for him to take over and destroy.
I believe that Mr Brown would be splendid as President of the IMF.
Come on Cameron be magnanimous and acknowledge that Mr Brown did a good job as Treasurer. As PM in the recent recession he proved to be an excellent leader and sage voice.

Gordon Brown has shown himself skilled in financial matters, and profoundly concerned about the needs of Africa. He would make a fine head of the IMF.
