Can I carry this wedge on an airline plane?

Sodding train is 6hours whereas a flight is 1.5 hours..

Cheers

Yes, you can. Clearly you are already very nervous about it though - I'd get a bank draft if I was you.

Providing you are not leaving the country then I see no reason to declare the cash you are carrying.

Best do it before they declare independence.

Tell your bank you want to pick it up from their Aberdeen branch. Problem solved

Is there a limit? I know someone who's supposed to be taking £19k to Ireland.

You can carry it on a plane no problem - they dont mention it when it goes through the x-ray machines etc. If you're worried, collect from bank in Aberdeen or pay by bankers draft or online transfer.

I took close to £10k from Doncaster to London, via Belfast.

Being clever I also managed to leave a can of deodorant in my carry on bag that got it searched.

Search guy told Special Branch guy who asked me a few questions, congratulated me on my choice of car, and sent me on my way with a smile.

You'll be fine and if they do ask just reply"I am carrying £10k because I am rich!"

I didn't think people liked cash these days. The more cash there is the higher the chance of forgeries being in there. Most people don't want such sums on the property or in their possession either.

It's probably folklore, but I heard that you need to be able to prove where you got the money if stopped by the Police. Carry a withdrawal slip with you just in case you get it taken off you pending proof. Wouldn't be nice to get all the way there and have to turn back literally empty handed.

I had this dilemma recently as I bought a car for a similar amount. In the end I prewarned the bank and transferred the money online with the seller present.

Wait till you sell a car and try and pay the cash into your account. s

Cheers guys.

Wife who is ex-copper told me I would have to declare it. Maybe over international waters..

Last I heard the Scottish were still using the pound. She is dead against the idea....

Ah well, ticket booked and off I go.

Occasionally I despair for the future of humanity.

This is one such occasion.
