just had a call pay £295 up front, and they will cancel your credit cards, on the basis of wrongfully sold credit agreements, that kind of stuff

And the guarantee that they can cancel the debts is how much?

People these days don't just want it on a plate, they want the plate the table and the whole restaurant without paying for it.

You borrowed it, you pay it back! What's so hard to understand about that concept?

Completely agree. Making many assumptions as I don't know the background of the OP but why should you be able to borrow money and not pay it back as agreed? If you've fallen on hard times then I have every sympathy but there seem to be so many people now completely unwilling to take responsibility for their choices.

If things are tight, go to the Citizens Advice Bureau and speak to someone who can help.

So why the need to get your loan cancelled then? Pay what you owe, job done.

A very sad indictment of the world we live in today. Try growing a pair.

I hope that this, at the very least, utterly obliterates your credit rating.

Put the shoe on the other foot and think about how you might feel. Pay back what you owe.

What, you lent a bank a few thousand quid and they defaulted and didn't pay you back?

A lot of rubish. Credit card debt can not be cancelled due to no signed credit agreement, or the many other reasons these companies try to use. It may mean the lender would not win in court if they tried to get a CCJ against you for not paying.

Only way to reduce your debt is IVA, bancruptcy or agreeing to pay a reduced amount direct with the lender.

All of the above will of course screw your credit file up, for a lengthy period.

If you want to try it on with not paying your credit card bill, you dont need to pay someone to do so, you can do it all yourself, by using the many websites out there. But you have to start by not paying your bill, and taking it from there.

Makes my blood boil this one. Nothing personal, but I hope you lose.

But that aside, I especially love the pricing strategy. Up front fee with a promise of "we'll pay you back, honest" if they aren't successful. This from a firm who specialises in avoiding debt. Priceless!
