Are these any good for a family with a 18 month old?
Looking at the resorts they look pretty sweet but pricy and only economy class flights which its I'm spending £5-7k for 2 weeks in an under 5 hour flight is expect business not cattle.

Outside of this does anyone recommend any good all inc 5 star in Tenerife - quiet resort wanted in running surroundings (or other canaries but not Lanzerote been there)

Last November the wife and I went to Sensatori Egypt. It certainly wasn't 5 star in the traditional sense, but it was still a fantastic holiday. However we were in the adults only area which was certainly a lot more civilised than the general populous. £5-£7k sound an awful lot for 2 weeks, but perhaps that's the Sensatori Tenerife prices?

We've been to, senatori Crete 4 times and I'd say it was perfect for a family with young kids.

What about the flights are they cattle class?
I'm thinking Certe jn Aug might be too hot for an infant hence Tenerife which is cooler

The figures quoted are about what I would expect. As for flying business class and then expecting anywhere to stay when you arrived at that price point, I'd be amazed.

Crete is very hot, even in June/July but there are plenty of shady areas and the crèche is excellent. Apparently the Greeks have children all year round smile
Ive never been to Sensatori Tenerife but having spoke to some who have, they said they found Crete slightly more child friendly.
As for the flights, well I've never flown business class so it seemed fine to me.
The Wife does regularly and it didn't seem to faze her!

Business class round Europe is c£500 P&P rarer than £200/250 economy with BA assuming you don't leave it to last min. Long haul yep £5-7k would just be enough for 1 adult maybe 2 if your lucky on price.

the great thing about sensatori travl is that you check in your bags etc at the hotel so when you arrive at the airport you go straight to customs with out all the usual check in wait.

Just come back from the sensatouri Tenerife hotel.
An impressive place. Must be the longest pool I've ever been in at 250 metres long
Rooms also very nice. Nice to have small touches such as uk terrestrial channels
Been to many 5* hotels in the canaries but this was the nicest

I wouldn't call it in a resort as such, more like a ghost village, but no problem for me as had a car
The place was getting slightly busy but not too bad, as the place is so big
Definitely noticed lots of babies there

Yes but our little one isn't used to the Sun and hot temps would certainly mean sleepless nights and if too hot sitting inside for the majority of the day.

Hopefully will get this booked in te next week or so - going to book BA business class flights seperatly don't like mingling with the riff raff.... smile. Also we are quite into supping champers for the flight and really value the extras BC give.

I'm trying to maximise the essentially free seat cost of our little one while under 2. With BC big seats extra space for the little one etc that alone makes it well worth while IMHO.

Riff raff going to that resort - really? They blowing £3-8k.... On a holiday that's not insignificant sure its not the priciest of holidays but its certainly isn't cheap. We're hoping that 5* and pricy does get rid of certain types I don't like Chav's much can spoil your holiday so if they are not there yippee

I don't blame you for doing it while you're not paying full for price for kids. We always end up spending over £12k on the four of us for a fortnight and that's travelling with the 'riff raff', so I guess I must be one of them! I agree the the better resorts will usually have a better clientele. There's often a few bad apples, but they stick out like a sore thumb, as opposed to your family feeling like you're the only normal people in the hotel! hehe

Maximise BC for us for now.
We tend to have 3 or 4 overseas holidays a year and its funded from Bonus money though even if I didn't hit bonus one year I'd have to say we'd still want to try to go that often - probably a cheaper resort etc.

I believe that buying two BC seats is the same price as three economy seats which we will have to buy from next year..... Maybe ill have to use airmiles or push the boat out for BC in future

Going slightly off the original topic, but we've found Sandals Beaches resorts and Royal Caribbean Cruises tend to be great for keeping the kids happy and when the kids are happy, it makes life a lot easier! smile

I've just linked this to Club 18-30 Tenerife forum because of your snotty attitude. I completely understand you wanting to holiday with your family away from certain types but many of us respectable people have no choice but to travel 'cattle class' should we wish to venture abroad.

Maybe Tenerife is the wrong destination if you're so concerned about 'riff raff'.

Enjoy the Champagne!

We're 5 months in to our adopted 3.4 year old twins and I couldn't / wouldn't take them away abroad it's too soon as they haven't flown before and are prone to random kick offs, were at centre Parcs this year!!! (Never thought I'd be staying there)

I always think Center Parcs is pricy, but I always enjoy it. Elvedon has got a great spa, I haven't been to any others.

I've always found that Sensatori "clients" contain a fair few of the following:
"footballers wifes", "new money", "snobs who are surprised that Thomson 5 star is not the same as the Ritz types etc" among the "normal" people.
I'm sure you'll have a lovely time though smile
