What is this place? Large compound near reading.

Does anybody know what this large compound is? A colleague of mine spotted it at the weekend and is convinced it's torchwood.

Says there were some police jeeps outside it, anybody know what it is?

I found the name by typing Burghfield into google and looking at Wikipedia

When I lived in Pangbourne in the 80s, it was always slightly comforting (in a perverse way) that if it all kicked off, with the proximity of AWE and Greenham Common, we wouldn't know a damn thing about it

Got to Newbury that way and every so often get a police convoy coming out of it.

ETA. If you keep going SW from there you get to Headley, and NW of Headley you see the Air Strip.

Is actually RAF Welford, europes largest ammunition dump (allegedly ) also rumoured that warheads from AWE were taken there during the cold war years, hence it has it's own slip road off the M4 (red and white sign "Works Unit")
