I'm having a halloween party next week and I'm going as a zombie I think! I'm going to get red contact lenses, some grey makeup from a costume shop and some red/blue eyeliner to make veins on my skin.

I also need blood - is there anyone on here who can recommend the best type so it looks good? I dont want some ste pink looking stuff yet I dont want to spend a fortune.

Any other ideas?

I'm trawling the net too for ideas, I just seem to remember there being some costume/makeup people on here!

I'm going to one as a zombie as well. There are a few tricks online - how to make a compround fracture, exposed skull etc.

Put some thought into what you were doing when the zombie train rolled into town - dont just go in your normal clothes!

Has to be the Alan Partridge style zombie surely!

You will need:

1 shower curtain
1 rubber bathmat
1 shower cap
1 flex off a mini kettle (for the tail)
white stuff for your face
tungsten tipped scrwes for fingernails (quite good for pointing with)

I'm sure your local butcher could hook you up with some bone fragments and some real blood.

There's nowt more real than real! (It sounds more plausible with a fake Yorkshire accent!)

Haha,

You have to go like that, even though it looks nothing like a Zombie people will be impressed with the effort to look like a zombie AND pull of an Alan Partridge move all at the same time biggrin

Dark Suit from a charity shop,
Cut the back across shoulders straight down the back ( I would leave a little at the bottom to keep it all together, Shirt do the same thing, Tie.

Gray, white face paint, dark eyes, red contacts as you have them.
Mud underneath the fingernails, Mud stains on the suit bits of grass stuck to it and in your hair.

One fresh from the grave walking dead guy.

Liquid Latex!!

This stuff is a must to create all types of zombie injuries.

As simple as painting on 4 or 5 layers of latex then grazing or ripping the latex to look like flesh falling from the bones! Any holes you make you need to make ‘raw’ with red facepaint.

Firstly you need to decide what type of Zombie you want to be. A fresh converted Zombie, or a risen from the dead Zombie. Have you just been bitten and converted so you are fresh looking with ‘battle’ injuries wearing your normal everyday clothes? Or a Zombie that’s risen from the day with rotted flesh wearing your burial clothes??

You can use things around the kitchen to create your look such as rice crispys stuck on to look like maggots or white plastic cut into a round circle stuck to the head to look like the skull exposed (stick down with latex, then ‘blend’ the edge with more latex before painting with makeup and blood).

You can dip tissue or cotton wool into the latex to create a build up on the skin, or even cover one eye with a cotton wool pad before covering in latex and makeup to look you eye has been ripped out.

If you aren’t wearing a prosthetic, you can do so much with latex. Once it’s on your skin, rip a way and be creative!!

Is fake blood makeup going to be a real pain with staining other people's clothes you might brush past, or does it dry?

I bought some with corn syrup which remained sticky for ages. The two tubes without dried up overnight and felt quite rough to the touch. I'm trying some Tesco stuff I bought in the Halloween section. It looks quite dark but we'll see how it looks when it dries.

To do a zombie thing, remember that the clothes need to be torn. Your previous human existence would have ended when a zombie attacked you so put blood at some of the rips. Also, consider blood on open areas of flesh where you may have been bitten or clawed.

And watch out for geeks running around with big guns who forgot what date it is. Zombie apocalypse!!
