In the PH spirit of asking a bunch of random people on the internet rather than seeking medical advice - I have a blister on my finger from a burn. It is not particularly painful (now) but I can't bend my finger. Should I pop it?

Pin over a flame for a bit. Make a small hole to drain out from.

Lots of antiseptic cream. Job done.

Let wife do it as she's a nurse. wink

I'd rather leave it though. Especially as I won't need to use it until at least tomorrow. Not been too bad today.

Given the position and size, it'll burst sooner or later. Best to leave it as long as you can though.

That's my thinking. The more recovery with the protective blister the better.

If it was me, I'd spray some WD40 on and then smack it with a hammer.

Leave it - they heal better if you leave the blister unpopped.

Maybe/maybe not, depends on the location. Plus, there's also the fun of watching the wateryness fly across the room.

I can't let a blister go unpopped.
It's just begging to be lanced.

Get it done already. Don't forget to film it for the tube.

Leave it.

It's a barrier to infection. It will pop eventually, then you want to rinse it under water and apply a waterproof dressing (plaster from Boots). That skin over the top is dead, but not useless yet.

It will heal if kept clean and dry.

as a sailor/windsurfer, blister like this are very common, in fact that's small and we usually get multiple blisters until the hands harden.

Pop it, man up and let the skin harden underneath. Risk of infection is bull, still plenty of tissue underneath.

If you want to see how hard you are - surgical spirit on it to harden quicker - hurts like hell!!

friction - pop

burn - leave

Rules of thumb.
