You know when you eat something and sometimes your jaw sort of 'sets' just before or when you put it in your mouth? Is there a name for that?

No - not that.

It usually happens if you have something sweet or sour. Maybe it's just me and I'm the only person that experiences!

Can't say I've ever experienced that, but having just googled 'Jaw setting when eating something sour', there seems to be a number of people questioning the same kind of thing.

I get the whole sour taste making you screw your face up, but don't get anything prior to it entering my face hole. Mainly because it isn't there long enough to allow my jaw to react!

It's momentary - maybe lasts a second or something.

I've never been able to find out what it is.

My (Scottish) grandmother used to say "it draws your jaws" when eating a sour sweet but this may be a colloquialism.

Pretty sure I get this sometimes when I look at those sour Haribos and only if I'm about to eat one. It's like my mouth knows it's in for a shock and goes into spasm for a second.

Never really thought twice about it.
