As I predicted earlier this year I'm starting to see Evora's very low 40's, towards the end of next should be able to pick one up 35k. Wonder what they paid for that car Px

I am guessing they paid 35k for it. Either way hands off, that is the spec I am after and in my colours.....

For the age of the car and given the S has launched to rave reviews, that looks like pretty normal depreciation to me. Or am I missing something?

I think the close ratio gearbox is a must and the sat nav is not wanted

Sat Nav is a must (even though its not great) in a 50k car IMO.

Is this not the same "Lotus" effect that you get during the off-season, where the prices are substantially lower during the winter months and then pick up slightly in the spring.

Winter, especially with the weather we have been having lately, is never a good time for a Lotus/Sports Car market and as such due to the lack of demand some dealers may take a reduction to ensure they do not have the car on the forecourt for another 3 months.

Admit that the Supercharged Evora will mean that there is a slight hit in the normal Evora's (maybe should have waited to get a supercharged one??).

Cheers
George

agree with bing about the blue one. black or blue are definitely two great colours.

Apparently red looks great as well.

Depreciation is the big one for me, I think I'd loose more on a £40K evora then say a £40k Saggy.....really fancy one or the other!!!!

Why? The system in the Evora has been slated by various journo's, not having one wouldn't bother me at all. In fact getting a car with the regular DIN radio slot would mean you could easily upgrade to a decent after-market box without much hassle. I'd rather have the cheaper car and sort the nav out myself.

Yeah, its not the best, but its expected on a car that costs that much these days. It can easily be changed aswell, and will help come resale.

The aftermarket unit won't have the bluetooth/phone/camera all nicely installed etc

Any decent car audio place should be able to sort that out for you, and I dare say to a better standard than Lotus did it OEM. Still don't buy it. Having sat in one at Brands Hatch recently I was astonished at how poor the fit and finish was, and how uncomfortable the driving position is with the offset pedals. I will probably take a test drive in one next year, but I can't imagine that it's something I could live with. Certainly not for £40k.

From what I've read of installable sat nav units, while the Evora's is not the best in the market, it's not dramatically worse than most of the others. In other words, installable sat nav/bluetooth/ipod units are not really that good in general (trying to do too much?). If you want good sat nav, I'd rather spend a little on a dedicated unit (eg. TomTom). It seems to me that our five year old unit is better than most brand new factory fitted boxes.

Yeah, but who wants to buy a £50k car, and stick a £100 tom tom on the window? Not me! But you're right about it not being that bad. I've not got many complaints. Its a bit fiddley, but once you get used to it, its alright.

Pedals are offset, but again, you get used to it. The seats are the best I've sat in.
