Now I don't see this here already and the threads in the football forum are, as expected, very biased.

I don't care for ever player or either team.

Luis Suarez though is a moron, he had a chance to draw a line under the incident yet chose to ignite it again. OK he says he is not guilty, fair enough, yet he has been punished with no appeal. If the club decided not to appeal simply to draw a line under the incident why wasn't Suarez told to tow the club line? Why didn't Kenny Dalgliesh man up and say Suarez was wrong?

NP&E? Shouldn't there be a special section on PH for footballists?

I am not a footballist as I explained in my OP, but I am sure all the News for the next day or so will centre around those two.

Evra shaking Henderson's hand

Evra shaking Enrique's hand

Evra not raising his hand to shake Suarez's hand - note Suarez's hand is there to be shaken. Once Suarez cruises past, Evra makes a theatrical play to grab Suarez's arm.

Evra after the incident

Read into that what you will.

Go and google it. No points for being too cool for football here.

I've asked Kinky to ban people - don't want to invite the anvil!! hehe

I've watched it a few times now Mick, our Patrice certainly dodges the shake, then when Suarez goes to shake De Gea's hand he makes a big play out of grabbing Suarez's arm. Bizarre. He certainly looks pleased with his little piece of theatre.

I must agree with you a bit. And that was not my first thought.... will watch it again on News later.

First viewing, Evra was 100% in the 'right' - apart from eth petulance; he should have pointed it out, shrugged and made Suarez look silly......

Now though.....

I think I agree, it was intentional by Evra to make Suarez look stupid and teh petuland one! WOnt bother trying to find on Youtube yet but will look out for it again later.

DOn't really care though as it typifies all that is wrong with Oikball smile

What, you mean the ultra-important story of a bloke not knowing anything about a football manager's job will be relegated to second place? I know the lack of a handshake could change the course of world history but come on, let's get a sense of proportion.

I've seen it a couple of times, tell the truth i don't think either of them wanted to shake hands and it was madness for the FA to allow it to happen.

Should have cancelled the handshake farce like they did at QPR V Chelsea last week.

I must admit that I don't give a st about football and find it completely boring. Therefore I don't really give a st about this and do wonder why it is in the news section.

I agree - first viewing I thought Suarez dodged it, but second viewing - check this out. His hand is much lower by the side of his body for Suarez, as opposed to out front for the others.

Clear to me now Evra dodges it not the other way round. Then grabs him as he shakes De Gea's hand.

Looked like Suarez deliberately missed Evra out to me.

Why didn't Suarez just take Evra's hand and shake it, it was there to be shaken?
