Can anyone figure this out? The car is apparently a one-off build but it looks way too good to have been built by an independent company (I've never heard of). It also looks exactly like one of the F1 cars from recent seasons, but I can't put my finger on which.

Caterham ? At least one of their cars was sold off when they went bust.

Would be interesting to find out what engine it has?

Aren't F1 cars sold into private hands in the modern era have the engines removed?

Betsafe page, linked to in OP, says : ENGINE - Designation: Ferrari type 056

Actually, I wonder if the chassis might be the A1GP car that Ferrari did the power units for ? The engine seems a pretty close match to that spec.

I was thinking an old (evil) lotus, based purely on the height of the nose.

The tech spec says the steering wheel is from a Sauber.

Found this link too: http://planetf1.com/news/street-f1-with-team-betsa...

Seems to suggest it has a Ferrari KERS in it too!

Can't find "Only The Fast" online any where either...

Isn't it a sauber?

There was a 'cheap' one for sale for a while on RCD.

I think this may be a Sauber, I know JDR have been working on one for a well known person...

I think it's a Sauber C30, circa 2011.

Looks close enough to it to me... Ignoring the wings, which look like a different spec, especially the rear. The 4 supports between the headrest and airbox, high nose, front wing supports and mirrors all look like the Sauber.

Up in General Gassing people are debating to what extent the video is faked. Well, those that haven't been side tracked into a discussion about Road legality.

Personally I like it here best where people are discussing the car.

I'm going to say Marussia Manor. The 1 with the Fezza engine. It's too modern to be anything else.

Either way it's interesting to see a very recent F1 car (presumably in private hands?) running. I know at least one private individual who has bought a sub 5 year old F1 car before and it was made intentionally difficult to get the thing running, I think he underestimated that aspect despite being very competent and having pretty good contacts/funds. That particular car has to my knowledge not surfaced since.

I'm pretty sure it's a Sauber from a few years back as several have already said. It doesn't look like any of the Marussia cars.

The front and rear wings look like C31 spec items, the nose looks C30 (The C31 had a stepped nose)
The monocoque looks C30 to me, as mentioned previously.
If the car has KERS and is a Sauber, the C30 was the first Sauber to support that item.

One article mentioned it had been created in collaboration with "Only The Fast", who seem to be linked in some way to www.heritage-f1.com

I see they have a Sauber C29 and C30 for sale, so I'd also go with it being a Sauber Ferrari - especially since the description for the C29 mentions leasing the Ferrari engine.

It's the C30 Sauber.

Agreed, however I don't think that's the C30's rear wing. The C30's had a central spar down to the gearbox, the later C31 had the tiny mechanism on the top of the RW to activate DRS.

So it's a bitsa.
