Guys advice required, had a huge snow fall last night which made the roads dangerous but I had to use the car to get to work at curries cause im the opening manager and didn’t want to have the other workers outside waiting in the cold.
I got stuck on the way there because of a huge hill and ended up getting stuck and still wheel spinning whilst rolling backwards until the back of the car crunched into a hedge.
Problem is the car is full main dealer history and was in mint condition prior to the crash, can someone advise how much it will cost to get resprayed??

How long is a piece of string, if no one specifies how long it actually is?

Double the length from the middle

Assuming light bumper damage thats repairable, plus scratches and small dents on bootlid / rear quarterpanels, i'd say £300-£500.

Ask around locally as to who does a good job for a decent price.

Post up a few pics in daylight, might give a better idea for an opinion, or give a better description, what colour, kind of paint finish, metallic or whatever?

Sounds a bummer, least your ok though.

pic of damage would give people a better idea of what is actually needed.

Full dealer history or not, a 51 plate Astra is not worth a lot. I'm sure the car still drives okay, and I doubt there is any significant damage if the car indeed just ended up going into a hedge (which is what it looks like in the picture). Save your money, use the car as is. Probably not worth respraying.

Almost without doubt the car is not worth repairing. Assuming 100k and in good running shape, a 1.6 16v 10 year old Astra is worth about £1200. If it costs £300-500 to repair it.

If you get snow like that then I'd look into another set of 15" wheels for the Astra (tonnes on ebay) with some winter tyres on.

Thanks for the kind words, its just really annoying because I have spent alot of time on the car making it perfect and trying to look after it. I know its a 51 plate i like it and have worked hard to add some modifications from the cdx model, fan washer jets and wood trim, have pictures if people want to see them??

Great site btw.

It does look very straight and clean for a 10 year old Astra, if it being spotless is important to you because you want to keep it then its worth doing. However whatever value the car is now it will not be worth the cost of the repair more than that if you were to get it done so dont pay for it to be done if you plan to sell it.

Without images of the damage... who knows. However, for arguments sake, a dented tailgate, broken back bumper and smashed tail-lights can all be sourced second hand for cheap. If you're lucky, perhaps even in the correct colour. Minor scratches with polish out. Getting it done "properly" would probably be deemed an uneconomical repair given the cars age and so on. Try and sort it yourself, second hand panels and a couple of hours work.

Ha, a quick pre work tin gets me through the early shifts in the winter.
