Many PHers are in the fortunate position of owning several cars to satisfy their personal needs or desires but imagine - perhaps not too difficult - that Big Brother decides you are only allowed to own one vehicle per household. However, you can design it to suit your own personal requirements and it will be made for you. (Let's ignore the trivial subject of costs).

What would be your specification?

Consider bodyshell, engine, transmission and equipment. As wild or as mild as you like.

I've got my own worked out but would like to hear yours.

low slung Coupe body shell, 2 seats, large boot.

Front engined, AWD with auto and manually switchable torque split.

350hp/350lb/ft supercharged V6.

Job jobbed.

This but with four seats, height adjustable suspension and another two cylinders.

Oh yeah, and a 5 tonne max' train weight.

And gull wing doors and pop-up lights.

Mk1 Escort Bodyshell with integrated roll cage into the chassis design and not intruding too much into the cabin to allow decent everyday use.

300-350bhp. Turbo or NA

4x4, but switchable to rwd

Adjustable ride height

All modern wiring and comforts – heated screens, electric windows, digi dash,

Comfortable bucket style recaros, possibly like the RS Focus interior, but slightly more luxury.

Easily removable body panels. i.e rear arch/panels swapped after a minor bump.

Easily modified to race on a Sunday and drive to work on Monday

wink too much to ask??

this, but I want to be able to add sections in the middle, so 2 seats if I need 2 seats, but the ability to split it in 2, and add sections for carrying more people or stuff or a section with beds in it etc etc. maybe even a different rear body all together with a pickup bed.

Ferrari 599 estate with gullwing doors and 45mpg. And 4 grand. And only available to me, I don't want every commoner in one.

Oh, and M3 mirrors and Lexus tail-lights. And under-body lighting. And 20" TSW Venoms. And a V6 Clio bodykit.

Body shape: Updates style Jensen Interceptor with folding hard top
Engine: Mercedes 7.3L AMG V12
Gearbox: 6 speed manual

It would be constructed from carbon fibre and weight in around 1000kg. Top spec interior, like the Zonda.

Carbon fibre tub. Mid-mounted N/A V16, between 7 and 8 litres in capacity. 7-speed manual gearbox. Huge ceramic brakes. Magnesium wheels. Fully adjustable (via electronics) active suspension. Coupled with plenty of other features, it would be an engineering masterpiece.

I would then tell a design house to produce a design that'll take a VERY long time to age.

Assuming MPG isn't an issue:

Mk4 or 5 Ford Cortina bodyshell, in brown, silver or blue. But preferably brown.
Adequately stiffened body
Front aftermarket foglights
Minimally invasive cage
"Hilarious" plastic fingers trapped in door/bootlid (anyone remember them?)
Sorted suspension and brakes
Gearshift with skull on it
Ferrari flat-plane crank V8 up front
Black vinyl interior
Cherry bomb exhausts
Ashtray with cigarette ash and sweet wrappers in
8-track stereo with bluetooth/usb/DAB stereo hidden away somewhere
Steel wheels
PH sticker!

I am awesome.

Bugatti Veyron in a Pagani Huayra or LP670 body with Air suspension that could raise the ride height 4-5" (all round) when needed.
